Kate Moss sizzles in smallest bikini ever

Supermodel Kate Moss who went nude for Pirelli calendar first posed for the photoshoot in a barely-there bikini. Italian photographer, Mario Sorrenti, who dated Moss when she was 17 clicked the steamy pics, reports Mail Online.

"Kate was given a natural look with minimal make-up and

slicked back hair," according to the tabloid.

"Locations used included abandoned old farmhouses as well as the blue seawater with backdrops of rocky outcrops - with security guards keeping onlookers at bay to stop sneaky pictures being taken," read the report.

The unseen pics have been released to promote the Pirelli calendar which was launched on December 9.

Apart from Kate, Lara Stone and Milla Jovovich also revealed all in a set of sexy shots for the calendar.

The tyre manufacturer Pirelli’s calendar is not available in the market for purchase as the company distributes the finished product exclusively to royalty, celebrities and VIPs.

“It’s very much about an intimate moment, and have something very one-on-one, building a conversation without words,” the Mirror quoted Mario as saying.

Kate said that Mario, whom she dated for a couple of years, adores women.

“We’ve known each other since I was 17 – we were boyfriend and girlfriend for a couple of years. He adores women,” Kate said.

“He really loves the female form and everything about it,” she added.

I'm ready to marry: Bipasha

After break-up with John Abraham, Bipasha Basu has been linked to Shahid Kapoor, Rana Dagubatti and Josh Harnett. However, the actor is unfazed by the link-ups. "You will continue to see me with Shahid and Rana. If people want to continue discussing us, they are free to do so. It's not going to

stop me from having a good equation with them or put an end to what I do in my personal space," Bipasha told HT correspondent Prashant Singh.

Bipasha broke-up with John Abraham after nine years of commitment as he wasn't ready to take their relationship to the next level, reportedly. However, speculations are rife that John may soon tie the knot with investment banker Priya Marwah, whom he has been dating for a while now.

At a recent press conference of Players, when Bips was asked about how she feels about 'someone close to her getting married,' she said: "Nobody close to me is getting married. If somebody close to me does get married, I'll just wish him luck, that's it. There is nothing more to it."

What about her own plans to settle down? "Aap ladka dhoondo na. Main shaadi ke liye taiyar hoon, par ladka toh dhoondo pehle (You search a bridegroom. I'm ready for marriage)."

So is she interested in a B-Town hunk? "Why does he have to be from Bollywood? A handsome man, with a great sense of humour is all that I want."

Big B does photoshoot with pet dog

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan must have posed for thousands of photoshoots. But this, with his pet dog Shanouk, was unique!

"Did photoshoot with Shanouk, my Piranha Dane for cover of a magazine on dogs by the ebullient Farzana Contractor, wife of BusyBee (Behram Contractor)!!" Amitabh posted on his Twitter page.

The 69-year-old, who loves spending time with his dog, even posted one picture out of the photoshoot, and wrote: "That picture is of Shanouk, my Piranha Dane...Shanouk - a warm gentle breeze on a cold winter morning..."

Recently, Big B had shared his thoughts on how his dog had been feeling ignored ever since Abhishek and Aishwarya had a baby. But one can guess, the special photoshoot must have taken care of the pet`s feelings.

Bipasha Basu to dance like Helen in Players

She has won over filmgoers with multiple dance numbers like Beedi Jalaile... and Namak Ishq Ka...(Omkaara). And now, Bipasha Basu is set to raise temperatures with Ho gayi Tun in Abbas-Mustan’s upcoming, Players.

And interestingly, her dance steps have been designed along the lines of
yesteryear dancing diva Helen. “We had asked choreographers Bosco-Caesar to put in a touch of Helenji – in terms of body movements, expressions and powerful steps. But it’s Bipashanot an exact copy,” says Abbas.

He adds that though the movie’s other cast members are also present in the song, “they don’t have lines in it, so technically, it’s a Bipasha song.”

A major part of the song was apparently shot in a famous Moscow nightclub. “In the song, Bipasha is trying to seduce a Russian army officer. She wasn’t just dancing, but she also playacting because it’s part of the narrative,” informs Abbas. However, since the nightclub was open only from 5 pm to 4 am, leaving little time for set-up and re-takes, makers couldn’t shoot the entire sequence there. “We only shot important parts of the song in the nightclub. For the rest, we erected an identical set in Chandivali Studios,” Abbas admits.

The film, an Indianised version of Hollywood hit The Italian Job (2003), also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Bobby Deol and Omi Vaidya.

Now, order a Chikni Chameli pizza

Marketing geniuses have aces and aces up their sleeves these days. After a milk shake getting named after Mallika Sherawat in Hollywood, a pizza chain has named one of its pizzas after Katrina Kaif, a daily reports.

This seems to be a promotional tie-up between Agneepath makers and the

pizza chain, says the report.

There is hardly any dearth in the market for interesting and innovative ideas these days. But this becomes a hot context keeping in view how the song is being publicised and received by Katrina fans.

After Sheila became a rage Karan Johar has a winner just by casting the sultry Ms Kaif in a fresh avatar. KJo tweeted yesterday: "Just heard from sony music that CHIKNI CHAMELI is the No 1 song across all radio stations!!! Super thrilled @KaranMalhotra21!!!"

The song is inspired by a popular Marathi song Kombdi Palali. See both below:

Salman apologises to celeb gate-crashers

If there is Salman Khan around then one certainly expects high voltage drama to erupt from nowhere. This is exactly what happened when a few people belonging to other teams from the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) tried a forceful entry into Salman’s private party on Monday.

Apparently, the superstar had thrown a party to celebrate his younger brother’s Sohail’s birthday and had invited members of his team, Mumbai Heroes to be a part of it. When members of the opponent side learnt about the bash, they too wanted to join the star in the celebrations.

However, when they tried entering the venue, the actor’s bouncers shooed them away and a heated argument followed. The so called gate crashers were established film actors of southern film industry, and therefore did not like the treatment meted at them.

Talking to a tabloid, an eye witness said, “The idea was to bring in Sohail`s birthday and so members from his team Mumbai Heroes were invited. Just when the party was getting started and Salman was in high spirits, other team players, who were at the official CCL party, gate crashed. Sallu`s party was rather happening. The drinks were flowing and the crowd was good, tempting the outsiders to join in the merriment.”

"Some bouncers did not know who is who and pushed some of the team players away a bit too roughly. A notice that read: ` Only for Bollywood` was quickly posted outside the party venue," added the eyewitness.

When Salman realised that the situation was going out of control he decided to put an end to it.

“Sallu went over to the other side of the pool and apologised for turning them away. He also extended an official invite to the Mumbai Heroes party. But, some of the team players held their ground and refused to go back,” said the source.

Bal Thackeray wants Veena to be sent back to Pak

The Shiv Sena supremo lashed out against Malik in his editorial in the party’s organ Saamna.

“Veena Malik is a blot on our country``s culture. Who is Veena Malik? Why is so much ruckus being raised about her?” The News International quoted Thackeray as saying.

“She goes missing for some days and it appears to be a publicity stunt
….sometimes she does obscene acts in Bigg Boss and sometimes she gets herself photographed in the nude for magazines,” he said.

“Veena is not such a big actress from Pakistan that we should go on praising her,” he added.

Thackeray also expressed his anger on other artists from her country performing in Bollywood.

“There is a trend in Bollywood to hire Pakistani artistes. Pakistani actors come to India and do not want to leave. People from Pakistan come to India to watch cricket matches and suddenly vanish. It’s difficult to say whether they work for terror outfits or not,” he said.

“On the other side, Pakistani government doesn’t even give visas to our artistes. There is a virtual ban on entry of Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle in Pakistan

“Dolly Bindra says, Veena Malik has ISI connections. If that is so, the person who gave her visa should be jailed,” he added.

He signed off this editorial saying that ‘we should clean up our country and send Veena Malik to hell’.

When Salman, SRK shared a common roof

Riteish Deshmukh, who celebrated his 33rd birthday last Saturday succeeded in bringing the two big Khans- Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan under a common roof, but couldn’t do much to bridge the gap between them.

SRK and Salman, who have worked in 3 films together `Karan Arjun`, `Kuch Kuch Hota Hai` and ‘Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam` have been at loggerheads since the latter’s infamous love story with Aishwarya Rai died an ugly death.

And when they came face to face at Ritesh’s birthday bash, both gave each other a royal ignore.

The two biggies were accompanied by members of their respective gangs and grabbed eyeballs by showing the strength of their camps. While Salman’s brothers Arbaaz and Sohail, his sister-in-law Malaika were by Salman’s side, SRK had best friends Karan Johar and Arjun Rampal giving him company.

However, KJo and Rampal were seen juggling between SRK and Salman while producer Sajid Nadiadwala chose to stick to the `Dabangg Khan`. Even Priyanka Chopra, SRK’s newest best friend buried the hatchet with Salman Khan by giving him a warm hug.

Nonetheless, the party was a peaceful one with no showdown.

We are sure Riteish must be thanking his stars!

Katrina follows my dance moves: Rakhi Sawant

Rakhi Sawant, perhaps true item-girl in Bollywood today, alleges that actress Katrina Kaif has copied her antics in her "Chikni Chameli" act in "Agneepath" remake.

"I think 'Chikni Chameli' is a good song. Katrina has danced very well but it's not something new. I have already done all this before. You can watch all my songs, I have already done that," the 33-year-old controversy queen said here at the Big Stars Entertainment Awards.

"I have done this in 'Dekhta hai tu kya' and she did this in 'Shiela ki jawaani'. In 'Chikni Chameli', she is again following me. It seems Katrina really likes me...It's alright if someone wants to follow me and dance," added Rakhi, who did a cameo in a few films before featuring in a full-fledged item number "Chura liyaa hai tumne" in 2003.

Rakhi hasn't got any awards so far. When asked about it, she compared herself with Aamir Khan, though in a light-hearted manner, and said: "Aamir and I are similar. Neither he gets awards, nor do I. But we have won the heart of India and we do not need an award."

The loud-mouth actress, who has dabbled both in television and films, was last seen on the big screen in an item song in "Loot". On small screen, she hosted the reality talk-show "Ajab Desh Ki Ghazab Kahaaniyan"..

Why Vidya Balan rules

Is it because The Dirty Picture has stormed the box office? Is it because she’s so good in the film? Or is it because she has flouted every rule in the Bollywood book and emerged a winner on her own terms?

I think I’ve cracked it. For two weeks now everyone I know  and possibly most
of urban India  has been going crazy about Vidya Balan. Nearly everywhere you go she is the subject of discussion and the conversations are nearly always flattering.

The obvious point of reference is The Dirty Picture. For two months before the movie released, Vidya was everywhere. Never before in the history of Indian cinema has a star done so much publicity for a film. And The Dirty Picture was not even a big budget special effects extravaganza like say Ra.One. But Vidya appeared on every television show you could think of (and many that you would never have thought of) and in every print publication.

Talking to her for this interview (and for my Star World show) I asked her what had involved more hard work: the promotion or the actual filming? She took a while to answer and even then she wasn’t really sure. My guess is that the promotion took much more effort.

So perhaps India is going crazy over Vidya Balan because she is so ubiquitous today, more omnipresent than even Anna Hazare.

Or could it be that everyone loved The Dirty Picture? The box office figures suggest that it will be a massive hit not just relative to its (somewhat modest) budget but compared to most other films released this year. Obviously, this is a picture that everyone has seen and liked.

Or it could be that they all think that Vidya is terrific in the movie (which she is)? Few actresses could have carried off that role with so much aplomb and managed to hold their own against an actor of the calibre of Naseeruddin Shah who gives one of his best ever performances. But if you ask me it’s none of these things.

My view is that India has fallen in love with Vidya Balan all over again (and we’ve been here before after the release of Parineeta and once again after Lage Raho Munnabhai though it’s never been quite so intense) not because of her current ubiquity or because of any individual film but because we have finally come to terms with who she is.

In an industry full of size zero figures, dancing bimbettes and self-consciously trendy bejeaned muppets, Vidya comes off as a breath of fresh air.

Basically, it’s this simple: she is a real person.

ParineetaEverything about her is real: the curves, the little roll of fat that she makes no attempt to hide, the clothes that she chooses herself, the roles that she agonises over before finally selecting one that suits her, the hard work she puts into each performance and then into the promotion, and most of all, the guts she demonstrates in finding her own path against the advice of nearly everybody in Bollywood.

We talk of Vidya’s courage only in terms of her willingness to play a southern sex symbol in The Dirty Picture. But compared to the other things she’s done in her life, this is no big deal.

In fact, her whole story is one of courage in the face of impossible odds.

Born and brought up in Bombay to a middle class south Indian family, Vidya had a dream: to become an actress. But while other girls with that dream would want to be glamorous heroines, Vidya focused on the acting itself.

Each evening she would stare at the mirror and re-enact Shabana Azmi’s dialogues from Arth. A particular favourite was the bit where Shabana tells Smita Patil to leave her man alone.

“I kept trying to cry because that was what the scene required,” she remembers. “But I didn’t know about glycerine in those days and I wasn’t sure how to make the tears come. All the same, I kept trying.”

Good middle class south Indian families do not react with delight when their daughters tell them that they want to join Bollywood. So Vidya’s parents insisted that she went to St Xavier’s College and studied. She did her BA and then an MA in Sociology.

“My father said that I could always become an actress,” she recalls. “But I couldn’t go back to college later in life. So I had to first finish my education and then I could do what I wanted. At the time I was not pleased but now, I can’t thank him enough. My parents were absolutely right.”

The education explains why Vidya started off late. But nothing explains why things kept going wrong for so long.

She was eventually signed up for a Malayalam film and though it wasn’t the Bollywood career she dreamt of, at least it was a beginning. Moreover, she was starring with Mohanlal, a legendary figure in Malayalam cinema and one of her idols.

But Mohanlal had a problem with the film’s makers. And so, halfway through, the movie was abandoned, never to be completed.

Because Mohanlal is such a big deal in the south, it was unusual for one of his movies to remain incomplete. And the film industry, ever quick to blame a newcomer, decided it was because Vidya Balan brought bad luck to the project.

She could have survived this debacle but a second film also ended in disaster. Four days into the shooting she was replaced. The makers decided that they did not want the Balan jinx.

What followed was heartbreaking. In the initial flush of excitement after she had been cast as Mohanlal’s heroine, she had signed a dozen Malayalam films. She was sacked from every single one of them.

She tried Tamil cinema and found a role. There too, things went wrong. The producer also decided that she was a jinx and she was replaced. She signed a second Tamil film, got to the sets and discovered that it was a sex comedy. She had been signed up under false pretences. Naturally she walked out. And as naturally, she was replaced once again.

Desperate to find some work at least, she agreed to act in a Euphoria music video directed by Pradeep Sarkar. This time she was not replaced and the video was completed but there was a fight between labels and the release of the video was stalled.

So, after three years in the film industry, Vidya Balan had been replaced in twelve Malayalam movies, two Tamil films and had made one music video which had been caught up in a legal quagmire and not released.

You tell me: wouldn’t you give up at this stage? Anybody else would.

But Vidya wouldn’t. And she didn’t.

I asked her about her state of mind during that phase. She says that it took every ounce of will power to keep from giving up.

She went everywhere for roles: on one occasion she walked from Nariman Point to Bandra, a considerable distance. At other times, she sat for hours at the Saibaba temple praying with tears running down her cheeks. (“I am a person with a lot of faith and I have conversations all the time but I am not so religious in the conventional, organised sense,” she says).

Then, slowly, her luck began to change. She was cast in a Bengali film and discovered that she was a Bengali at heart and learnt to speak the language fluently. (She even sings Bengali songs, one of which she sang on camera for me when I seemed somewhat dubious about her linguistic abilities).

Pradeep Sarkar who had kept casting her in ad films and other music videos never lost faith. He had planned to make Parineeta for producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and insisted that Vidya would make a perfect heroine.

Naturally, Chopra was leery of investing money in a first-time director and a virtual newcomer as an actress. He insisted on auditioning Vidya and she says she has lost count of the number of auditions she did over a period of several months.

Finally, Chopra gave in. He agreed with Sarkar that she was the perfect choice for the role and agreed to sign her.

By all rights, Vidya should have been a nervous wreck. Her career had stalled in two different film industries (Malayalam and Tamil) and her reputation for bringing bad luck to projects had spread far and wide. This was really a make or break situation for her.

But oddly enough, she says, she was never nervous. She knew what was at stake. She knew it was her last chance. And she knew that the camera was her best friend. (“The camera is my confidante,” she says. “I speak directly to it.”).

So she gave it everything she had. And the rest is history.

It hasn’t exactly been an uphill struggle since the massive success of Parineeta. Lage Raho Munnabhai gave her the stamp of commercial acceptability and it would have been easy enough for her to have joined the Bollywood rat race since success seemed to come so easily and naturally to her.

But after some strange films like Heyy Babyy and Kismet Konnection in which she tried to pretend to be what she is not a Bollywood bimbette Vidya decided that this was not part of her original dream.

“At some stage my sister and brother-in-law sat me down and asked me why I had become an actress,” she remembers.

“I said it was because I wanted to be different people, to play different characters. And they pointed out what should have been obvious to me. If I was going to do these typical Bollywood films, then I wasn’t really playing different characters. It wasn’t why I had become an actress at all.”

Ask yourself this, if you had only one dream, if that dream had been dashed on the rocks by fate through rejection and replacement and if you finally had found some partial fulfillment of that dream, some measure of success at last, would you really risk it all?

VidyaThe reason I like Vidya Balan – and I guess the reason all of India loves her so much is because she was ready to start from scratch again. She was willing to walk away from one kind of success. She was ready to take risks that seemed like commercial suicide.

All because she still believed in that original dream, not in the commercial fantasy that it had morphed into.

The films that have come in the latest phase of Vidya Balan’s career are not those that a commercially savvy actress would have signed. She agonised for three months before agreeing to do Paa even though it offered her a chance to act with Amitabh Bachchan, an early idol since his Yaarana days. (She even liked that silly outfit with the lightbulbs that was stolen from The Electric Horseman).

It wasn’t that she minded playing Amitabh’s mother. It was just that she was terrified of screwing up.

As it turned out, she was brilliant. She was terrific as a deglamourised Sabrina Lal in No One Killed Jessica. And she was even better in Ishqiya where she played the kind of character she developed further in The Dirty Picture: a woman who is willing to use her sexuality in the advancement of her own interests.

Even so, The Dirty Picture represented a huge risk. Hindi cinema no longer requires its heroines to be virginal angels of innocence. But I can’t think of a single other film where a heroine is shown as seducing a man simply to advance her career and is still treated as a sympathetic character.

VidyaAnd then there was the terrible visual deterioration that her character suffered at the end of the movie. Which heroine would agree to do all this without wondering about the effect on her stardom?

But Vidya took the risk. She liked the role, she said. It offered her a chance to take a character that society looked down on and to invest that person with dignity and depth. Her character didn’t have to be somebody you felt sorry for. You just had to accept that she was an independent woman making her own choices in her own interests.

“‘Treat her with respect,’ was my motto,” she says.

Now that the risk has paid off and the film is such a stupendous success, it is easy to say that Vidya was right to take the role. But had it gone wrong, it could well have been career suicide.

Except I don’t think that Vidya cares too much about that any longer. She doesn’t care about image or about body issues. She’s happy to be a star. But she’d much rather be an actress.

At some level, I think all of us recognise that in Vidya we are dealing with a real person who is making real choices and not with some machine-made, image-manipulated Bollywood star. We respect her risks. We admire her resilience. And we know that even if we didn’t do all of this, even if we didn’t go to see her movies, it would not make that much difference to her.

Because after those years of disappointment, rejection and experimentation, Vidya Balan has found her destiny.

And her destiny is simply this to be her own person. To be Vidya Balan

Meeting Obama filled me with pride: Mallika Sherawat

Mallika Sherawat, who has been spotted with Hollywood celebrities like Sharon Stone, Zoe Saldana and Jake Gyllenhaal, says her most memorable so far has been meeting the US president Barack Obama.

She met Obama at a tea party in Los Angeles in April.

"The most memorable memory for me, when I felt really proud to be an Indian, was when I met president Barack Obama and I told him about Bollywood. How we all love him there and I invited him here and he said that I will take up your invitation for sure. That is the most memorable memory for me," said Mallika here at a press conference to announce her performance at Hotel Tulip Star`s New Year`s Eve show.

Mallika shifted base to Los Angeles after she received an honorary citizenship of LA for her career achievements and charitable efforts in 2009. Even though, on and off, she has been visiting India and featured in films like "Thank You" and "Double Dhamaal", one thing she misses the most in LA is her brother.

I don`t get to spend more time with my brother and I miss spending time with him," said Mallika who was also seen in a Hollywood flick "Politics Of Love" in 2011 and is in India to shoot for Sanjay Khanduri`s "Kismat Love Paisa Delhi" opposite Vivek Oberoi.

She played an Indian princess in Jackie Chan`s Chinese film "The Myth".

Veena Malik slams death threats from Pakistan

Veena Malik has hit out at the ‘stone age’ attitudes in her home country Pakistan over the death threats she received after she allegedly posed nude for the cover of FHM magazine. She claims the magazine airbrushed out the thong she was wearing. But her appearance has led to accusations

of betraying her country; her father has disowned her, and she has received death threats.

A text message sent to local journalists by ISI’s public relations machinery complained that the affair was ‘the height of humiliation for Pakistan, done by a Pakistani on Indian soil’.

Malik has all along accused FHM of morphing her photos. The actor and the magazine have been suing each other for 3 million pounds in a bitter exchange of lawsuits.

She has also hit out at the ‘stone age’ attitudes in her country and argued that no one is willing to hear her side of the story.

“If some mullah on the TV today says shoot the girl, they will shoot me. But the guy who removed my clothes using some technology, at least say something against him,” the Guardian quoted her as saying.

In fact, not many know that for the first look launch of Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Rhea designed Kareena’s dress while Karan did Imran’s wardrobe. Rhea, till date, has only designed for her sister Sonam.

For the uninitiated, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is about a one-night marriage of an impulsive couple played by Kareena and Imran.

Imran, Kareena along with Karan and director Shakun Batra, recently launched the trailers of the movie, which have begun drawing interest in theatres.

Coming back to Kareena and Rhea’s connection, it’s being looked upon as an interesting combo considering Rhea is considered the brain behind fashionista Sonam’s stylish avatars.

She and the Two and Half Men star spent the night together at a hotel in San Diego on the night of the actor’s six wedding anniversary.

Leal later sold her story to a celebrity magazine while Kutcher, 33, desperately tried to save his six year marriage to Demi Moore after failing to deny the infidelity.

“It was insane. I had no idea what I was getting myself into,” the Daily Mail quoted Leal as telling Fox News.

“It might have seemed like I was asking for it, but I wasn’t.
“My dad wouldn’t even talk to me, and I got a lot of disturbing phone calls, even from my friends’ parents.

“I got fired from my job. I am no longer friends with my best friend who was my roommate because it caused so many problems and I had to move out.

“I wasn’t working for two months, and I only just started working three weeks ago. I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

Leal told Fox News that she had no idea Kutcher was married when she agreed to accompany him back to his suite at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego, California.

She claimed having unprotected sex with Kutcher telling her he was separated from his wife.

“I don’t watch television and I read very few magazines. It never crossed my mind that he was married.

“But then he said he was separated, which still doesn’t make things okay, but I wasn’t thinking clearly.

“He was a good looking guy and it was stupid.

“When people say to me ‘I can’t believe you did that’ I want to say back that most 22-year-old girls in my position would have done the same thing,” she added.

Since being fired from her job as an administrative assistant with an insurance company she has started work with a real estate firm and is training as a yoga instructor.

It's official! RGV to make film on 26/11

When Ram Gopal Varma visited the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower Hotel soon after the 26/11 terror attacks, it was speculated he would make a film on the incident. The news is confirmed now.

Varma has tentatively titled his film 26/11, and he aims to capture the "behind-the-scenes" aspects of

the terror attack as well as the heroism of the officers.

"Everyone more or less has seen or heard of what happened during that time (26/11). But my attempt now would be not only to capture the physical aspect but also behind-the-scenes aspects of what exactly happened from the time Kasab and rest of the team landed on Amar Singh Solanki's trawler in the high seas, till Kasab's heroic capture by the late Tukaram Ombale at Girgaum Chowpatty," Varma said in a press statement.

"This will be intercut with what the various gallant police officers did in their attempt to get the situation under control," he added.

The terror attacks at prominent Mumbai locations by 10 Pakistan-based terrorists, left 166 dead, including several security personnel and foreigners, besides over 300 people injured.

Soon after the incident, Varma's walk through the half-burnt hotel accompanied by the then Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and his actor son Reitesh had led to speculations that he might make a film on the attacks.

But when he was asked if he was planning a real-life inspired movie on it, he had told IANS: "It's a figment of their (media's) imagination. I have no such plans (to make a movie on Mumbai's 26/11 terror strike)."

Hrithik Roshan invites Vivek's wife

In Bollywood, he is known to be a family man. But Hrithik Roshan, along with his family, gave Loving Your Family a new twist by inviting Krrish 3 co-star Vivek Oberoi’s wife Priyanka Alva Oberoi for the mahurat shot of Rakesh Roshan’s new movie. “Hrithik and his family, in a sweet
gesture, invited Priyanka on the first day of the shoot because Vivek was a part of the mahurat sequence. Of course, Priyanka was happy and went for the shoot along with her hubby,” says a unit member of the Krrish 3.

Since Rakesh Roshan returns to direction after a gap of six years (his last directorial venture was Krrish in 2006), his entire family, including wife Pinky and daughter-in-law Sussanne, were present at the mahurat shot. Hrithik, who didn’t have to can any scene that day, also came in for the first-day shoot.

vivek“At the mahurat, Hrithik bonded well with Priyanka. Both of them were chatting and laughing animatedly. She was also mixing well with Pinkyji and Rakeshji. They all looked like a happy unit,” says the unit member from the movie.

When contacted, Vivek says, “It’s great to be a part of the film and Rakesh uncle’s vision. Duggu is a dear friend and shooting with him will be a lot of fun.”

Apparently, Hrithik has been very keen to participate in all the creative decisions along with his father. Once the first schedule of Krrish 3 with Vivek, Kangna Ranaut and Priyanka Chopra is through, Hrithik is expected to join the cast.

The Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara actor, who has been suffering from back problems, is on his way to recovery currently.

Meanwhile, Hrithik’s cousin Eshaan — son of music composer Rajesh Roshan — has joined the, Krrish 3 unit as an assistant director. Eshaan apparently wants to get into direction and is not very keen on an acting career like Hrithik.

Sonam Kapoor Inspired by Bipasha Basu?

Her fashion fetish aside, Sonam Kapoor is currently obsessed with getting a fab bod.

She has started practising hot yoga and pilates. She's also follows a strict diet and is staying away from junk food.
Wonder if the new interest is the result of working with Bipasha Basu in Players?

Why Bipasha Basu landed in a Russian jail

This is something pretty embarrassing and one wouldn’t want anything of this sort to happen ever in life!

Our very own dusky hottie Bipasha Basu, who was shooting in Russia for her upcoming multi-starrer `Players` landed in a jail along with her co-star Sikander Kher.

This is how it all happened- Bips and Sikander were strolling on the streets of the Russian city they were shooting in, after work. They reached a road which had signage in Russian language. Apparently, the street was not meant for pedestrians and since the two couldn’t read Russian, they had little idea about the warning.

But even before they could realise what’s happening, they were caught by the police and taken to the nearest station.

Poor Bips and Sikander were wondering why they were caught.

However, one of the officers at the police station happened to recognise Bipasha and turned out to be a fan of hers.

He then apologized to the duo for having taken them into custody and explained to his colleagues that they had not entered the street intentionally.

Narrating how the event unfolded, Bipasha while talking to a daily said, “I remember when the other cop recognised that I am a Bollywood actor, he began apologising profusely. Although the entire incident shocked us initially, we have a good laugh about it even today. It was great fun actually.”

Priyanka returns as 'Junglee Billi' in Don 2

Priyanka Chopra is again the ‘Junglee Billi’ in Don 2, and she loves playing ‘Roma’ because of the role’s love-hate relationship with the title character.

In the first ‘Don’ film, Roma had fallen in love with Vijay, the good guy, only to find it was actually Don at the end. She had vowed revenge towards him for killing her family but he managed to give her the slip in the end.

“I am Don’s Junglee Billi, but also a cop who’s after his life. The most interesting part in this film for me is the relationship between Roma and Don because that’s evolved tremendously,” Gulf News quoted her as saying.

According to Chopra, even Don and Roma don’t know what they want.

“Roma hates him. He betrayed her. Four years later she trains to be a cop and her only ambition in life is to catch this guy who killed her brother and sister-in-law and made her fall in love with him and then left her. So it’s a warped relationship between Roma and Don,” she added.

On Don’s feelings for Roma she says, “Roma is, as he says, ‘his bad habit’”.

“He’s not sure if he loves her or hates her and even I don’t understand that even though I’m playing the character,” she said.

“And that’s what makes it interesting. There are strings that bind them yet they can’t stand each other,” she added.

Anna Hazare beats Katrina Kaif

Bollywood may want better luck in the new year. Social activist Anna Hazaare has trumped the glamour industry to become the biggest newsmaker this year.

In a year-in-review conducted by entertainment portal Yahoo! India, Hazare, who mobilised millions of people in his anti-corruption

drive and subsequent fast at Ramlila Maidan this year, emerged as the top newsmaker, followed by cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. Bollywood makes an entry only in the third place, with Katrina Kaif.
Anna
Industry experts see this as a “welcome change”. Filmmaker Onir Anirban says, “It is a blessing. The fact that Anna Hazare is the biggest newsmaker of 2011 reflects that we Indians are more politically and socially aware. It is great to see that people get politically engaged and less obsessed with Bollywood.”

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt adds, “If people are more curious about social icon Anna Hazare than a Bollywood icon like Katrina Kaif, it shows that India is moving to another sphere.”

Communication consultant Alyque Padamsee says, “Youngsters connect with what Anna stands for. This shows he is a stronger influence than Bollywood.” Bollywood however, made news for the stars’ personal lives, especially star babies. Actor Aishwarya Bachchan, Konkona Sen and Lara Dutta’s pregnancies were hugely followed by users.
Katrina most downloaded
Katrina Kaif may have lost out to an anti-corruption icon and sportsperson in the online world, but the actor stayed ahead of her contemporaries, as the most downloaded female celeb on mobile phones.

In a report by Airtel mobitude 2011, Kat, who was seen in films like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan this year, is followed by actors Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez. Among the males, Shah Rukh Khan is the most downloaded. Salman Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Imran Khan are second, third and fourth respectively.

Howzzat?
Some bizzare stories also generated user interest; PETA launching a porn site, a woman giving birth to her grandchild and that kissing can cause cavities. UK’s royal wedding,  Kolaveri, Poschim Bongo (the new name for West Bengal)  and DK Bose emerged as the hottest buzzwords.

Sky abuses girls in the House: Shraddha

Model-actor Shraddha Sharma, who is the latest to be evicted from the Bigg Boss House, says fellow contestant Akashdeep Saigal (Sky) abuses girls in the House.

Shraddha is better known as actor Raja Choudhary's ex-girlfriend and survived in Bigg Boss 5 for 63-days.
She said that Dolly Bindra to enter Bigg Boss house?
even though she is a quiet person, she always stood up against Sky's antics in the House. "I am a very quiet person and like to stay away from arguments. But Sky provoked me. I just stood for myself against a person who abuses girls badly. My anger was reasonable. I was the only one from whom Sky kept a distance. He would not mess with me easily," said Shraddha, who is known for her Jalebi Bai act in the house, told PTI after her eviction.

Contrary to previous claims made by Pooja Bedi that the audience watch the edited version of the show, Shraddha said that Bigg Boss does not show edited version of the happenings in the house. "The show is not scripted or edited contrary to what people have said. It shows what actually happens in the house," she added.

Shraddha, who is the ninth contestant to get evicted from the house, said that she wanted to be in the show for much longer time. "I don't know what to feel. I think my eviction came way too soon than what I expected. I have mixed feeling. I am sad because I think I could have gone a long way in the show. But I am also happy that I am going home to my family and friends," she said.

"Only three of us were nominated, Sunny, Sky and me, so there wasn't much option left for the audience. Sunny has been in the house for over two weeks now and there was not much chance of her to be evicted. And it was majorly between Sky and I," she added.

Shraddha, who has previously participated in reality shows like Emotional Atyachaar and Love Lockup, revealed that the politics in the House at times made her go mad. "I didn't understand the politics in the House. If I would stand up against Sky, then everyone would say that I was picking up a fight without any reason. And when I would not say anything, then again people would say that I am passive and don't react," she said.

"My mind stopped work at times. It was maddening," she added.

Now, after the eviction, Shraddha is eagerly waiting to see how her fans react to her after her stint in the reality show. "I am eagerly waiting to know how people have started perceiving me after the show. I am excited to see how fans react to me from now." she said.

Never been lucky in love: Veena Malik

Controversial Pakistani actor-model Veena Malik, who will be seen in the reality show Swayamwar, says, she has never been lucky in relationships but looking forward to find her partner in the unique show to go on air soon.

She has been in the news for her relationships with Pakistan

cricketer Mohammed Asif and her closeness to Bollywood actor Ashmit Patel and about whom she candidly says that "we liked each other and we are good friends".

Veena entered Indian small screen as a participant in the reality show Bigg Boss, last season.  And now she is set to find a groom on national television with the show Swayamvar -Veena Ka Vivaah, where a celebrity finds his or her bride or bridegroom.

"I won't lie about Ashmit. We liked each other and we got stuck there. Today we are good friends. I share my work related issues with him. We are really good friends now. I have never been lucky in love. My relations in the past never worked out," Veena told PTI in an interview.

The first season of the show -- Rakhi Ka Swayamvar started in June 2009, with item girl Rakhi Sawant selecting Elesh Parujanwala, a Canadian businessman from Toronto.

In the Season Two, titled Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega, featured late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan’s son Rahul as the groom looking for a bride and who chose Dimpy Ganguly.

The third season of the show Ratan Ka Rishta featured television actress Ratan Rajput who was looking for a groom and eventually was engaged to Abhinav Sharma.

And the fourth season of the show will see Veena looking for her 'Mr Right' on the show.

Ask Veena if she is apprehensive about the reception to this show in Pakistan, and she says: "People in Pakistan love Bollywood and there is no Indian movie that we do not watch. We love Indian culture also so much that we wear sarees nowadays for functions rather than salwar kameez."

"It is an honour for a Pakistani to do such a show. It is only a section of people who had issues in the past. But that was settled and everything was fine now," she said.

But did she ever dream to getting married on national television ? Pat comes the reply, "Not at all until the show came to me. When I was offered Swayamvar, I consulted my parents and you won't believe, they were more excited than me. My father asked me to give one more chance as I might find my Mr Right."

Remembering Dev Anand

The last time I met Dev Anand just before the release of Chargesheet, he had said, "Unless something physical happens to me,  I will continue working with the same amount of energy.'

At that time even though he looked frail, it was impossible not to believe him. Looks like his heart after all, didn't keep step with his enthusiasm for life. According to people close to him, the failure of Chargesheet is what broke his heart so much, that he uncharacteristically chose to give up on life. What's sadder than his death is, that his spirit broke first. That was a rare indomitable spirit which served him unfailingly all his life.

Whenever he called, he would start with an enthusiastic, 'Hi this is Dev', like a young man just starting on his professional life would. When he was about to start shooting for Chargesheet, he had asked me to accompany him to Mahabaleshwar with the crew. "Let's go," he had said with an enthusiasm which was always infectious, "I just went there to check the locations. The weather is fantastic!" He would never let it occur to you that you are talking to an octogenarian. It felt more like a college buddy inviting you for a picnic. I couldn't manage to go and that would be a regret.

This suave, well dressed man, never failed to amaze with his undying positivity and optimism. He was not only young but also light hearted. He didn't carry any past baggage of glory or tags. He had once told me, "People call me a living legend, but I don't agree. I am still in the running and will continue to run as long and as far as I can. I know there are some people who ask 'What's wrong with the man, why can't he just stop?' but they don't realise what Dev Anand is all about. They need to be in my situation to understand what drives me." Yes, no one could neither understand what he was about nor even strive to be what he was.

And yes, referring to him in the past tense is bothering me. I am sure he wouldn't approve. He had once said flashing that boyish smile of his, "An actor never dies. Is there any other performer who's been able to keep him active the way I have? Do you see my contemporaries around? People still ask me what are your future plans? How many people of my age have that privilege?"

"There is so much to say ¦how can one do it in one lifetime?". One lifetime is indeed not enough for someone like Dev Anand.
