We have some good news for you all. Ash is all set to be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s long pending project Bajirao Mastani. And if buzz is to be believed, Ash will be seen opposite Shahrukh Khan.

It is heard that Bhansali even dropped by Jalsa and met Ash to discuss about the film. However, the film won’t be going on floor anytime soon as Ash has to give a cent percent attention to her little baby. There are chances for the film to roll sometime mid 2012.

This will be Ash’s fourth film the the Baadshah Khan.

Fat Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to become slim!

Aishwarya Rai has hired a senior trainer to shed the post pregnancy fat and she will be working out from January onwards. Apparently, hubby Abhishek wants her to get back into shape and feels it’s time that Ash should hit the treadmill.
Reportedly, Ash has been advised to hit the treadmill, as she had a normal delivery and is fit to workout.
It seems that this diva will soon be back to her sexy and svelte figure!

Ranbir Kapoor sketched Aishwarya Rai

What can she do if men of all ages locate her so gorgeous? Aishwarya Rai though married to Abhishek Bachchan has many male admirers in Bollywood and one such man is the hunk, Ranbir Kapoor. Lately at the Paa opening, Abhishek came to know about this, Ranbir was seen catching up with Aishwarya Rai and both the stars nonstop talking to each other until Abhishek came and interrupted them.As soon as he joined them, Aishwarya Rai told him a secret about Ranbir and that was an incident that happened almost a decade ago.

At that time, Ash was working with Rishi Kapoor in his directorial debut Aa Ab Laut Chalein and a young Ranbir who was keen to learn film making, was assisting his father. Big B pulled off the role of a 13-year-old kid suffering from progeria for his Balki directed film with a unbelievable transformation through prosthetic make-up and now Ash in her forthcoming Vipul Shah movie Action Replay is going through an equally elaborate makeover to look like an old lady for some scenes.Apparently even Ash is being given her look by well-known Hollywood make-up artists and the process takes between 4-5 hours.

While Amitabh’s Auro was perfected by Christien Tinsley (The Passion of the Christ) and Dominie Till (The Lord Of The Rings trilogy), Ash is getting help from Paul Pattison who has earlier styled Mel Gibson for Braveheart and Tom Cruise for Mission Impossible.An insider discloses, “The film is most probably about time travel and Ash will be seen playing an old lady in a portion of the movie. She had to patiently give over four hours to get the desired look — which took many prior sittings just to be finalised.

It was an everyday ordeal to first put on and then remove the make-up. Bachchan too went through a similar experience. But Ash was on time regularly for these sessions.” Confirms Vipul Shah, “Ash is playing an old lady in a portion of the film and she did have to spend around 4-6 hours everyday for the make-up, but she was extremely cooperative. It’s a look people have never seen her in before — it’s our USP and a big secret.”

I'm looking forward to being a mom: Aishwarya Rai

Aishwarya Rai says she is fully convinced that actor-husband Abhishek Bachchan will make a good father in real life because he is so "real and rooted".

"Everybody has been asking me if Abhishek will be a good pa (father) in connection with the release of our forthcoming production Paa. I think it's silly for me to be even making the statement. It's given - I married the man. So obviously I have the conviction in the husband he is or the father he will be," said Aishwarya, 36 in an interview.

Asked about Abhishek's qualities that would make him a good father, Aishwarya laughed and said: "He is very real, very rooted and very human - which I absolutely relate to. His values are evident for everybody to see. We have known each other for so many years.

"I've seen him with his niece and nephew since the time they were babies. He is so great with kids and I've seen that for the longest time with (his sister Shweta's children) Navya (Naveli) and Agastya. I have no doubts on him whatsoever."

Aishwarya, who will be seen with Abhishek in Ravana, was in the capital Monday to launch the Longines PrimaLuna, a new watch range inspired by the moon and galaxy.

Sporting a sleek piece herself that matched with an elaborate yet elegant black and cream off-shoulder gown, Aishwarya was at peace talking about her personal life.

Asked whether she would want a daughter or a son, she said: "Come on...Aren't you like moving at a really fast pace...! Whatever god has in store for us in life (will come)... Life itself is a blessing, let alone to have opportunity to be able to bring a life into this world.

"It's really not in our hands ...it's in god's hands. I hope I am just blessed with that experience, I am really looking forward to it and we will certainly cherish it," she added.

Her mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan is a member of the Samajwadi Party, but Aishwarya is doubtful if she will ever head in that direction.

"Life has been so full - haven't even thought about it (entering politics). My life is evidently extremely full in terms of the amount of responsibilities and experiences I am currently having.

"And I believe, anything you take, you have to be able to commit to and give a lot of yourself to. And I think at this point, life is full and that's what I am giving (my best) to," she said.

On the work front, the former beauty queen is busy with big ticket projects such as Mani Ratnam's Ravana, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish, Rajnikant starrer Endhiran and Vipul Shah's Action Replay.

The actress is likely to feature as Mumtaz Mahal with acclaimed Hollywood actor Ben Kingsley in Taj, which is based on Taj Mahal.

"After The Last Legion, Sir Ben and I were keen to work together in another project. He has now come with the final draft and he has just sent it over to me. Once we agree on everything, we will take the project forward. He will start scouting for the locations soon," she said.

For now, Aishwarya is looking forward to AB Corp's Paa, which features her father-in-law, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, and Abhishek. The film releases Friday.

Aishwarya Rai to play Mumtaz Mahal

After bringing princess Jodha to life in Jodhaa-Akbar with a beautifully restrained performance, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to enter royal territory again by playing Mumtaz Mahal in a film based on the Taj Mahal.The film will have a budget of 30 million US dollars and will get more international coverage than Jodhaa-Akbar as Sir Ben Kingsley will play her co-star, Emperor Shah Jahan. The film, called Taj is produced by Kingsley’s newly launched SBK Productions. It is an epic and will be shot on location in Agra and Fatehpur Sikri. Co-incidentally, Aishwarya’s father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan has worked with the legendary actor in the upcoming Teen Patti and was blown away by his talent and knowledge of cinema. In fact, he was nervous about shooting with him.

Ben Kinglsey has spoken about the film in the international press. He is thrilled about the project which revolves around the building of the Taj Mahal. He had spoken to Ash about the film when they were shooting The Last Legion. The screenplay is being penned by British actor, playwright and novelist, David Ashton. The multi-million dollar film will also include Shah Jahan’s time spent in isolation. The film will go on the floors next year.Kingsley is really fond of India and its people and this movie will give him a chance to spend time in India and connect with the people and audiences.Kinglsey is charmed by Ash’s pristine, universally-appealing beauty and couldn’t think of casting anyone else. It obviously helps that Ash is an Indian and the face of Bollywood cinema in the west, which is why it makes for apt casting of her in the role of the legendary beauty.Kingsley’s wife, Brazilian actress Daniela Lavender will play Persian princess Kandahari Begum.

As for those who are skeptical about an Englishman playing the Mughal Emperor, it is time to watch Richard Attenborough’s Gandhi. Not many people know that Ben Kingsley was born Krishna Bhanji in the UK. His father, Rahimtulla Harji Bhanji was of Indian descent. Kingsley won an Oscar for his splendid, nuanced performance and it was hard to tell him apart from the real Mahatma. He is best remembered for that role.Bharat Bala Productions have wanted to make a film on the Taj Mahal with Aishwarya Rai since a very long time but the project hasn’t taken off. Earlier, Akbar Khan made the ambitious Taj Mahal with Sonia Jehan and Zulfi Sayed. The film also starred Kabir Bedi, Manisha Koirala, Kim Sharma and Arbaaz Kham, among others.

After being stuck in the cans, it released in 2005 and flopped. Let us see how Kingsley’s film turns out. Will it be doomed like its predecessors?

Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been going around saying that she has always been the original choice for Barbie in the Bollywood. At an event to promote an international watch brand she endorses, Aishwarya was asked how she felt about Katrina Kaif – the Barbie hitting the markets on December 9 this year.The question seemed to have rubbed Ash the wrong way.

This is how she reacted to it: “I was asked by that brand (Barbie), not just now but, I think, since Miss World, then at the turn of millennium, then when my films were raging success after Canes and this year was the fourth time actually that I was requested by Barbie to walk the ramp on a particular day.”"But I was a committed professional working with Vipul Shah and he needed my date on that day so I was unable to accept that offer to walk the ramp that particular day for them,” she added.

Katrina Kaif Snubs Aishwarya Rai

Katrina Kaif sure knows how to sidestep the questions she isn’t comfortable with. On November 1, which was Aishwarya Rai’s birthday, Katrina was cornered by a journo when she was asked to wish Ash a happy birthday and that too on television.

The stunner and her co-star Ranbir Kapoor were promoting their film Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani at Mehboob Studios. They were doing television interviews when in one interview the reporter popped the unexpected question of Aishwarya’s birthday.

While Ranbir was cool and wished Ash a very happy birthday, Katrina wriggled out of the situation by simply stating that Ranbir has wished Ash on her behalf as well.

She is reportedly planning events to promote the film, which sees Amitabh playing a 12-year old boy with the aging disease progeria. Her husband will play Bachchan's father.

Katrina refuses to wish Aishwarya Rai Happy Birthday!

Yesterday afternoon, the usually affable Katrina Kaif made her displeasure apparent by flatly refusing to wish Salman Khan’s former girlfriend Aishwarya Rai on her birthday. That too on national television.Katrina was in the midst of giving television interviews with good friend Ranbir Kapoor for their film, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. During the course of one of the interviews at Mehboob Studios, a reporter suddenly asked Ranbir to give a sound byte to wish Aishwarya on her birthday. Ranbir gladly obliged by wishing Aishwarya warmly.

When the reporter asked Katrina to wish Aishwarya, Katrina told the reporter that she doesn’t need to wish the actress as Ranbir has already done the needful. Certainly a clever way of masking her vexation on being asked to wish Salman’s ex-girlfriend.As soon as the interview ended, Katrina, who had kept a tight check on her anger, stormed out of the studio floor and rushed into her vanity van. She refused to come out for 45 long minutes.

Guess she wanted some much-needed space to calm down. One thing is for sure, Katrina is slowly but surely learning that being one of the most successful actresses in Bollywood requires a healthy balance between friends and rivals.
