Aamir, Kiran name their son Azad

Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao were blessed with a baby boy through IVF surrogacy on December 1 and the proud parents without wasting anytime named their son. Aamir and Kiran’s new born was named Azad Rao Khan after his great grand uncle and freedom fighter Maulana Azad.

"Hey guys, most excited to share with y'all that we have finally chosen a name for our baby boy... Azad. Azad Rao Khan. I left the final choice to Kiran, and she has named him after my great grand uncle Maulana Azad, the great freedom fighter, whom the family is most proud of. Azad means free or liberated. We want to thank everyone for their warm wishes and blessings, and needless to say we are absolutely overjoyed and feel most blessed. Much love. a.," he posted on his wall.

Kiran suffered miscarriage in 2009 but now they feel blessed with the newborn.

Aamir Khan to play Lal Bahadur Shastri?

After Mangal Pandey and Chandrashekhar Azad in Rang De Basanti , Buzz is Aamir Khan is all set to do another classic character from history and that’s Lal Bahadur Shastri. And the most amazing and interesting thing is that the veteran actor Manoj Kumar is writing the script. Manoj Kumar is making a comeback after 10 long years. He is writing two patriotic scripts – one titled Aakhri Goli (The Last Bullet) based on the life of Chandrashekhar Azad and the second titled Lal Bahadur Shastri on the life of the previous prime minister of India.And we also heard that Aamir is also keen to reprise the role as his nara will be ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kissan’.

“Aamir has been approached and he is quite excited. The movie is about the life and times of Lal Bahadur Shastri. It is like a bio-pic, but since so little is known about the personal life of the man except for the fact that he was very close to Jawaharlal Nehru and that he had fought a war with Pakistan — and his mysterious death at Tashkent about which people have debated whether he was poisoned — we have to improvise a lot on the plot to make it dramatic and intriguing. The script will have the permission from the descendants of Shastri’s family,” Manoj told After Hrs, adding, “I think Aamir is well equipped to pull off this role. I have seen his movies and I must say I love his acting. He is certainly the finest performer we have today.”

Manoj Kumar is known as the patritic hero of bollywood as he has always done movies related to Bharat Mata. When contacted Manoj Kumar he said , “”Life has begun for me at 50. I have always believed in quality over quantity and so in my entire career, I have just done around 50 films — unlike others who have done 300. Hats off to them, but I don’t have the stamina to go on and on unless something really fascinates me.” “I have researched the subject for many years and only after that did I decide to take the plunge. movies have been my passion and I don’t think I can ever stop it. Aamir Khan weaves sari to promote 3 Idiots

Fewer than two weeks left to the release of his movie 3 Idiots, Aamir Khan is leaving no stone unturned to promote it. If it was going dissident last week this week the perfectionist actor is busy weaving a sari. Aamir along with Kareena Kapoor weaved a sari in Chanderi district of Madhya Pradesh. These off while saris were traditionally made of cotton, but over the years, they began to be made of silk.

Aamir learnt the plight of the weavers during his recent visit to the Pranpur village and decided to promote their art. The sari weaved by Kareena and Aamir will go for auction through an NGO and the money collected will go for the improvement of the village. The sari has the names of both the stars on it. Aamir also bought a few saris for his wife Kiran and had gifted Kareena one too.

Aamir Khan’s auto rickshaw escapes crash

Aamir Khan was on a promotional spree for his upcoming flick, ‘3 Idiots’. He has been traveling to various parts of India in costume to promote his film. Newly, when he was traveling in an auto-rickshaw in the look of an old man, his vehicle collided with another three wheeler and luckily, Aamir Khan escaped unharmed. But two of his co-passengers continual several injuries. Aamir with his two colleagues were taken to hospital.

Says a source, “At around 5 am on Sunday, while returning from the Dasaswamedh Ghat where he had taken a boat ride, the auto ahead of Aamir’s rickshaw tilted due to the potholes on the road. To avoid a accident, Aamir’s rickshaw was forced to grind to a halt. Due to the impact, a co-passenger was hurt”.Aamir’s publicist confirms the mishap and says, “He was lucky to be saved. He did not sustain any injuries.” The publicist adds, “Two crew members of 3 Idiots are accompanying Aamir. One of them was badly injured and spent five hours receiving medical aid after which he was discharged.”

Aamir Khan has been traveling to various parts of India as a part of the film promotional and he will leave clues and his friends will help people to locate him with the clues. The winner will get to celebrate New Year with Aamir and his family.

Aamir Khan to play the lead in ‘Sarfarosh’ sequel

Remember the action packed Aamir Khan starrer blockbuster ‘Sarfarosh’? The film that bagged oodles of moolah and reaffirmed Aamir’s superstar stature at the Box Office will soon be followed by a sequel. Believe it or not but years after ‘Sarfarosh’ went to become a nationwide hit, director John Mathan is set to work on its second part with none other than Aamir Khan. Keen on making the sequel, the director is presently occupied with the script of the sequel.

According to sources, John will meet Aamir Khan to discuss the project but only after he has the final script in hand.Considering the actor’s love for perfection, John doesn’t want Aamir to reject the project over trivial issues.Confirming the news, John told a news daily, “Hopefully, the script should be ready soon. Only after I complete it and provided I like it, I will talk to Aamir.” However even though John is convinced that no actor except Aamir will suit his film, he has yet not decided about the lead actress.

As for the theme of the movie, the storyline will be based around national security. “The villain in ‘Sarfarosh’, played by Naseeruddin Shah, was not an Indian. In the sequel, John wants to dwell upon the enemy within”, a source said.

Aamir who was attending the release of a coffee table book on Guru Dutt said that he hasn’t apologised to Shahrukh and he sees no reason to do so. Aamir added that he had apologised Shahrukh’s children as they felt hurt reading his blog more than a year ago. He said that he was upset to hear that Shahrukh’s children were unhappy with what her wrote and he had no intention of hurting them. He also said that he had stopped calling his dog by that name.

Aamir revealed that he hasn’t read Chetan Bhagat’s book Five Point Someone which is said to be the inspiration behind 3 Idiots. The actor in a recent interaction with the media said that he felt the script of the movie was more important than the book from which it has drawn inspiration.

Aamir said that when he was approached for 3 Idiots by Raj Kumar Hirani he insisted on being given the script rather than a copy of Chetan Bhagat’s book. He added that if the script and the dialogues are well written in a movie rest of the things fall into place. 3 Idiots is based on the lives of students of a prestigious engineering college who feel out of place in their institution. 3 Idiots hits the screens on Christmas day and is one of the most awaited movies of the year.

I love Sachin’s intensity: Aamir Khan

What is amazing about Sachin is that for 20 years he has been able to maintain a level. There has been no dip in his abilities, his application or his passion for the game. I would say very few people could last this long. I’ve played cricket and believe me, you can’t get out of bed for one week after one gruelling match.I saw him for the first time in 1988 when I was shooting at the Brabourne Stadium and he wasn’t playing for the Indian team yet. The team was practising at the nets and I was chatting with Kapil Dev, Dilip Vengsarkar and a few others. At a distance I could see this kid batting. I was surprised to see that he was middling the ball; he looked so small, and so young. I was zapped. I wondered who this little boy was, who was being allowed to practise at the nets with the Indian cricket team.

So I asked Kapil and Vengsarkar, “Who’s he? How come I don’t know?” They told me he was a new guy called Sachin Tendulkar, who was being seriously considered for the Indian team. So I had the good fortune of seeing Sachin play even before he walked into the team.The first time I met him was in 1990 when he came to the sets of Raj Kumar Santoshi’s Andaz Apna Apna. I don’t know how many people will recall this but it was Sachin who gave the clap for the mahurat shot at Mehboob Studios in Bandra. We met briefly and over the years we have been meeting off and on. We have been to each other’s homes.I have shown him all my movies, even Andaz Apna Apna which took three years to make. He came along with members of the Mumbai Ranji team to Bandra’s Gem theatre in the G-7 complex where I had organised a preview for them.Whenever we meet, we talked about both cricket and films.

He saw Ghajini at the test screening in my Khar office.He saw Taare Zameen Par also at the test screening. We stay in touch through SMS and when he plays really well, I promptly send him a text congratulating him — like when he smashed 175 in Hyderabad.What’s so attractive about Sachin’s game is the joy and passion with which he approaches the game. There is a lot of intensity in his game whether he is batting, bowling or fielding. For me, everything he does is perfect. I like to watch him open the innings in the ODIs. It gives me a high.

After Aamir, Salman to become a perfectionist

After a string of flops, Bollywood hunk Salman Khan has taken a cue from his friend Aamir Khan. Salman now wants to become choosy and perfectionist like Aamir rather than delivering multiple duds in a year. After his home production Main Aurr Mrs Khanna and the the movie London Dreams bombed at the box office, Salman has understood that his brand value is sinking. Shahid Kapoor is all set to do an Aamir Khan

Choreographer Ahmad Khan is back from the US after months’ shooting for a song with his best-friend Shahid Kapoor. And Ahmad just can’t stop singing his star-pal’s praises for the generosity Shahid showed in the US. The actor actually made sure Ahmad Khan’s kids got a long-cherished dream to come true. Says Ahmad fondly, “I had been promising my two sons Azaan and Subhan a trip to Disneyland for months. Earlier when we shot in the US for another Yashraj Film Bachna Ae Haseenon I kept hoping there would be time. But I couldn’t manage to get away. But this time, Shahid made sure it happened.”

Apparently Shahid not only ensured that Ahmad wrapped up his work as quickly as possible he made all the arrangements for Ahmad his wife Saira and two sons to take off for Disneyland.“And why not?” says Ahmad defensively. “Shahid and I are childhood friends. Before my mother held my sons Shahid took them in his arms. So it’s perfectly natural for him to look out for me and my family.”Recalling the fabulous experience Ahmed says, “Out of the one month I spent in the US only 12 days were devoted to shooting the song. It wasn’t even a dance song. It was a concept number showing the hero and his friends splurging and binging all over the US. We shot at casinos and at various pleasure and tourist spots in Philadelphia, Orlando, New York, New Jersey and Chicago.”

Shahid will now be seen in Ahmad Khan’s directorial project Pathshala. “In a 2-hour long film Shahid is there for an hour. So he’s there for 55 minutes. His role is like Aamir Khan’s in Taare Zameen Par. He comes in mid-way and yes, he’s the teacher. Both Shahid and I have decided to focus on the kids in the marketing rather than on Shahid.”

Aamir Khan is obsessed with perfection and innovation even when it comes to his commercials. In an upcoming advertisement, Aamir will be playing a puppet artist or ventriloquist.While Aamir is shown operating the puppet, in actuality it is legendary ventriloquist Ramdas Pathaye who is pulling the strings behind the scene. Aamir and Ramdas Pathaye had met earlier when Aamir was a young boy and a fan of Doordarshan’s show Meri Bhi Suno on which Ramdas operated puppets.

As a young boy, Aamir was fascinated and used to take notes from the show. He was delighted when he met the ventriloquist in person many years ago.When Khan met Pathaye, he told he was delighted to meet him again.Pathaye was surprised and then Aamir recalled the episode when he had met him as a child. Pathaye was amazed at his fantastic memory. For the ad, Pathaye told Aamir to observe him operating puppets and pick up his body language to create a bond between the puppet and him. The ad will be aired in a few weeks.

In the recent past, Aamir has played a biker in a video game who transforms into a real person in the Coca Cola ad, he has played a TV-obsessed husband whose life has been simplified by Tata Sky, dressed up as a woman for another Tata Sky ad and played a Sardar in an ad for Coca Cola.It is believed that Aamir is deeply involved in the making of his ads which is why his commercials have proper dialogues.
