Akshay Kumar gets mobbed

With his well sculpted hot body and killer looks, Bollywood’s original khiladi, Akshay Kumar is a huge hit among girls! The action star was recently mobbed by besotted models who insisted the actor to consider them in his upcoming flick ‘Tees Maar Khan’ while he was attending a Farah Khan-choreographed lingerie show. Well, the star-struck models did more than flaunting their stunning figures as the whole action turned into a catfight.

With Akshay starring in ‘Tees Maar Khan,’ the models deduced that the star might need a leading lady and flooded the actor with requests.Talking to a news daily, a close source said, “Akshay and his wife Twinkle were seated in front of the stage. Those girls were smiling at Akshay from the ramp itself.”Incidentally, as soon as the show was over, a bunch of models walked up to the actor and said, “‘Tees Maar Khan’ mein fit kara do.” A surprised Akshay told them that the flick required only one lead actress. The scene soon turned ugly as the girls started fighting among themselves.

Realising that the girls won’t budge, Akshay sent them to Farah, the director of the film, by warding them off as, “Please understand. It doesn’t work like this. You have to speak to Farah only.” When enquired Farah, the choreographer turned director said, “Yes, I know about this. Those girls were auditioning for Akshay. All the girls who participated in the show had great bodies. I have collected quite a few portfolios in the last few days. Let’s see who gets selected eventually.”

Girl sheds blood for Akshay Kumar

Fans often go mad for their favorite star. Many a times, they act madness by shedding blood. Akshay Kumar was caught in such similar situation when a die-hard fan of his slashed one of her wrists only because she could not meet him. Says a source close to the actor, “Preeta (name changed to protect identity of underage girl) stalked him for a year. She’d run away from home in Lucknow to meet him and would land up everywhere just to catch a glimpse of him and talk to him. But Akshay always has heavy security around him and she didn’t get her way.”

One day, she happened to land at Akshay’s residence and asked the guard to allow her to meet Akki. As usual, the guard turned down her request. Unable to convince the guard, the girl slashed her wrist in front of them. Luckily, Akshay Kumar was present at his home at that moment and the guard informed him about the incident, he rushed to the girl and took her to the hospital. The source continues, “Once she was stitched up and out of danger, he spoke to her. He made her understand and try and see things from the right perspective, and even called her parents in Lucknow and got them to come to Mumbai.

Then he invited the girl along with her parents to his home for coffee and asked them to take care of her. He told her that she had to look after her parents as family is important and he was very attached to his own. Now the girl’s parents have sent her abroad for her further studies but she’s in touch with Akshay once a month. She writes to him keeping him posted about her developments.”Finally, the long time wish of the girl was fulfilled.

Akshay to wear used clothes for next film PATIALA HOUSE

He's known as the Khiladi of the Bollywood town. His style statements are as famous as his film characters. But, all this is going to change as soon as his next film PATIALA HOUSE goes on the floors.

The latest on Akshay Kumar is that the actor will be dressing up in old, used clothes for his act in PATIALA HOUSE that will be shot in Southall London later this month. The idea of Akshay going for old clothes has been decided by director Nikhil Advani since he is keen not to present the character of Akki in any unrealistic way.

Akki's role in PATIALA HOUSE is that of a Punjabi boy who is helping out his father by running a corner store in Southall London. The film also stars Anushka Sharma, Dimple Kapadia and Rishi Kapoor.

Raj insisted on not inviting Akshay

Akshay Kumar and Twinkle were not part of the 30-odd B-Town folk invited to the Shilpa Shetty-Raj Kundra wedding reception last night. Says a source, “The newly-weds didn’t want to be in an embarrassing situation and thought it best not to invite Akki and Tina. Akshay and Shilpa were romantically involved over a decade ago and while they were dating, there was talk of marriage.

However, Akki married Tina and a heartbroken Shilpa had to move on. In fact, Raj was firm about Akshay not being invited for the reception.”The source adds that though Shilpa and Akshay met and sorted out their differences a few years ago things again turned awkward after a British tabloid report. “Akshay was livid over a ‘funny’ story which had come out in The News of the World in 2007 after Shilpa had won the UK celebrity show Big Brother.

A furious Akshay had even threatened to sue the tabloid. Last year, the actor had even showed up for the finale of Bigg Boss 2, which Shilpa had anchored. They appeared at ease with each together.”

Akshay Kumar causes havoc during Shilpa’s wedding

Ex-flames and former lovers can really be BIG trouble when you get married. More so if you have a less than cordial relationship with the one in question. Trust Juicy Mausi on this one. Look for example what happened at Shilpa Shetty’s wedding the other day in Lonavla. So there we were all excited to see Shilpa babes all ready to tie the knot (finally!) with Raj Kundra. Everybody is having a wonderful time at the venue in Lonavla. I for instance was just putting the final coat of my MAC lip colour in rich plum when I heard it.

GAWD! I couldn’t believe my ears when the melodious strains of a Shilpa Shetty number floated up from the brass band downstairs. Trust me, the song was nice, and the band did not do an altogether bad work at it. The fact that the song was from a film that starred Akshay Kumar apart from Shetty girl is what made it cacophony. So, after dropping my lipstick in shock, my feet took root as I stood in anticipation of what would happen next. They must’ve played the song from Dhadkan for less than a minute when a handful of non-descript people rushed out of the house and asked them to stop playing it. Then is exactly when I fell on the floor laughing.

Well, the situation was undeniably funny though a little embarrassing perhaps for the bride and the groom. The bandwallahs, poor guys, were told to stop playing Akshay Kumar songs. They in fact were asked to stop playing altogether until someone took a look at the list of songs to be played. WOW! Everything was fine after that and the fairy tale wedding took place. I was really happy for Shilpa and would have even shed a few drops of tear if I hadn’t been wearing my latest glitter liner. It’s not waterproof!

However, Akki did make his presence felt at the wedding. Not in person of course. He was NOT invited. But through his songs. The thought of Shilpa just kept me from laughing again!

Akshay Kumar is India's Brad Pitt

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has referred to Akshay Kumar in an interview to the international edition of Harper’s Bazaar as India’s answer to Hollywood actor Brad Pitt. Says a source close to Akshay, “The premier referred to the actor as B-Town’s answer to Brad Pitt as he felt that Akshay has the same charm and star appeal.”

When quizzed about being compared to Pitt, Akshay quips, “I feel like someone has taken my Porsche and replaced it with a Ferrari. It’s the kind of compliment that makes you feel fabulous but you can’t show it. You are just supposed to nod your head and say thank-you.” The Canadian PM was in Mumbai recently and met Akki, the sole Indian torchbearer for the Winter Olympics to be held in Vancouver in February.

Akshay has also being voted as the sexiest man alive this year by People magazine. Does he feel sexy? “Are you kidding me? It takes a woman to make a man feel sexy. I have never been able to look at myself in the mirror and say, ‘Wow! Akshay you are looking hot today’. I have very low self-esteem. I only feel sexy when my wife looks up at me and squeezes my hand with pride. That’s when I feel desirable.”

Aishwarya ditches hubby Abhishek for Akshay

Love and all is fine in its own place, really. When it comes to one’s career, I suppose one needs to be a little ruthless at times, right? At least that’s how Juicy Mausi feels. And so, when I heard that Ash ditched her husband Abhishek for Akshay Kumar, I did not really think it was weird or ‘wrong’. It so happens that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has opted out of her husband Abhishek Bachchan’s film Crooked produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani citing ‘date problems’.

Apparently, the dates clash with her other commitment – Vipul Shah’s Action Replay starring Akshay Kumar.Since Action Replay is neariAsh ditches hubby Abhi for Akking completion and Crooked is going on the floors not before January 2010, Juicy Mausi doesn’t think there should’ve been too many chronological problems. However, one needs to prioritise certain things in life.

Of course, when one wants to get ahead! And it’s not like Ash is leaving her husband Abhishek altogether. They are still very much together darlings.

Suniel Shetty finds Akshay Kumar irritating

Suniel Shetty, Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal created comedy history with Hera Pheri in 2000. The sequel in 2006 was not as successful or even funny, as it wasn’t directed by Priyadarshan. The foursome is back with an out-and-out entertainer in the form of De Dana Dan. Actor Suniel Shetty talks about his co-stars. Suniel loves Akshay Kumar to death, but hates how cheeky and naughty the superstar is. ‘Akshay is a natural talent and very spontaneous with his scenes. He is super energetic all the time and loves playing pranks and making people laugh. He is very hyper, and that is why he irritates me. I take time with my scenes. I learn my lines and get the grammar right, and then Akshay does some antic which makes me go blank when I have to say them and I burst out laughing!,’ recalls Sunil.

He adds, ‘Akshay also has the bad habit of taking people’s mobile phones and sending messages to random people. This created a lot of confusion, and now, we all keep our phones safe, out of Akki’s reach. He is a mischievous child at heart and that is why we love him,’ smiles Shetty.About Paresh Rawal, ‘Where do I begin to praise him? He is a legendary talent and an effortless actor who can do it all. His zeal, zest and dedication are inspiring, and he is a very simple and humble man at heart. I am so much in awe of him that when I see him acting, I forget my cue, because his performance leaves you speechless,’ he says fondly.

About De Dana Dan, Suniel says, ‘It is a fun film that will leave everyone in splits. Watch the movie expecting to be entertained, and you will not be disappointed.’

Akshay Kumar Comes Clean After His Arrest

Akshay Kumar was arrested for obscenity in public. Akshay Kumar invited his wife onstage to unbutton his favorite pair of Levi’s which was stoutly condemned by the media. However, Akshay Kumar is making no mistakes. He’s got a huge reality check after being arrested for obscenity in public and stoutly condemned by the media.

Normally, this would be the order of the day for most people, except of course for some seasoned punchbags like Salman Khan . I think wife Twinkle says it all, says Akshay Kumar.
I didn’t know that the gesture would create such an uproar. I don’t want to go to jail again, so no such retakes for that shot. Akshay Kumar added

Akshay Kumar reaffirms his wife’s claim. So there’ll be no unbuttoning of jeans in public anymore and those drooling women who have been dying to see him drop those slim fits will have to make do with their imaginations and pin-up posters.

Akshay Kumar could be world’s worst-dressed men

With his outlandish dressing sense, Akshay Kumar could be a strong contender for the world’s worst-dressed men list, at least that’s what the editor of a British magazine believes. Jeremy Langmead, editor of Esquire magazine, has said that the 42-year-old Bollywood action hero might be one of India’s most successful film stars, but he doesn’t score too well when it comes to style. He said that Akshay’s enthusiasm for the latest fashions — particularly ones that involve shiny bits attached to them — sadly makes him a strong contender for the world’s worst dressed men list, reports Times Online.

While Kumar, just like his contemporaries form Hollywood, loves to sport the latest looks shown on the catwalks of Paris and Milan, his pictures on Google reveal some of the most unappetising outfits worn by modern man, said Langmead. His oversized sunglasses looks as if borrowed from Victoria Beckham, day-glo hoodies stolen from Kanye West, slogan T-shirts from Henry Holland, and lots of shiny, torso-revealing accessories that remind one just a little bit too much of Daffyd from Little Britain, the literary expert said.

Akshay’s son to compete in Karate-do Championship

Come 2010 and Akshay Kumar's son Aarav will be a major competitor at the papa's Invitational Open National Karate-do Championship.

The Karate-do championship is the brainchild of Aarav's coach Shihan Mehul Vora, a martial arts practitioner and teacher. He wanted the star beta to participate in the championship this year but the actor denied permission.

Papa Kumar felt that beta Aarav wasn't ready and it would be unethical if he allowed Aarav to compete with people who are more talented and have received training for years. The actor felt that the students taking part have been slogging for years and Akshay didn't want to be accused of favoritism.

Reveals a source, "Now Akki has taken it into his own hands to train Aarav along with Mehul. The training starts in the morning and goes on for a couple of hours. The Khiladi wants Aarav to be qualified enough after training for a year.

In fact, Twinkle's bundle of joy has a bet with his dad that if he wins next year, he will receive a special gift. This time, Aarav will only watch the participants." Akki's boy has been learning karate since he was four.

30,000 students have already registered for the championship this year out of which 1,000 will be shortlisted. They will be Akshay's guests in Mumbai for three days, all expenses paid. Winners will get a medal from a recognised school in Japan.

Blue promises never-before-seen visuals and stunts

Akshay Kumar says when Blue director Anthony D'Souza approached him for the underwater thriller; the first thing he asked him was "Are you capable of making the movie?” Touted to be India's first underwater film, which is said to match international standards of filmmaking, Blue promises to bring with it some never-seen-before visuals and stunts.

"The first thing I did was to look straight into his eyes and ask him - 'Do you actually think you are capable enough of making a film of this scale, genre and setting? You may say that you want to shoot the film in space or on the moon, but saying something and doing it are two different things. So how will you actually shoot the film?"

As things turned out, D'Souza had done his homework well in advance and showed some of his work from the past, which included certain advertisements he had directed as well as some groundwork on Blue.

"Honestly, it all led me to at least start lending an ear to him. I became further interested in knowing how he was going to execute Blue," Akshay told IANS.

"After all there were going to be extreme stunts in it and that too under water. Then Tony (D'Souza) also showed me the work of the DOP (director of photography) Pete Zuccarini.

"He is the same guy who has also shot Pirates of the Caribbean. He even made me talk to him and once I did that, I was quite satisfied that at least Tony had his heart in the right place and he had done his homework well."

Once on board, Akshay wasn't too worried about the fact that a film like Blue had never been attempted before on the Indian screen.

"I am sure that it would be legendary in its own way. Let's see how the box office treats, but while doing the film we went all out for Blue. Making a film like this is no joke in any case.

"With the backdrop of a treasure hunt to it, it involves real sharks and all. I had to go through some training, take diving lessons and earn a certificate for myself because without that you are not allowed to enter sea."

But that's not all. Akshay had to get back to reading after years -- but this time under water.

"Can you beat that? I had to read books around underwater.Tony made me do so much for this film. It was further hard work because there are minimal special effects. In fact, not a single shot has been taken against a green screen.

"My cameraman, Pete Zuccarini, who is famous for underwater swimming, also helped me a lot. I thought I knew swimming so it would be easy but this man taught me how to 'belong' to underwater. That's the kind of encouragement I was looking for."

Also starring Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta and Zayed Khan along with Katrina Kaif and Kylie Minogue, Blue is produced by Dhillin Mehta and has music by AR Rahman. It is set to release Oct 16.
