Abhishek calls me 'jiggly poo': John Abraham

Bollywood hunk John Abraham, who is back to playing his gay self in the sequel to Dostana with Abhishek Bachchan, says that the junior B has named him "jiggly poo".

The actors became friends while working together in the gay comedy and continue to share the same equation.

"After we starred together in Dostana, Abhishek has nicknamed me as his 'jiggly poo'. He sends me messages on my birthday saying 'Happy Birthday Jiggly Poo'!," said John.

John and Abhishek called each other the same even in the film, and the name seems to have stuck on since then.

The 2008 film, which had John playing a lothario pretending to be in a homosexual relation with Abhishek, was directed by Tarun Mansukhani and also starred Priyanka Chopra.

The 37-year-old actor will be reprising the same role in the sequel too, which will be filmed from June this year.

"The sequel will pick up from where Dostana left off. So there is me and Abhishek playing the same characters again," he said.

Promising that the sequel will be even more fun-filled, the actor said, "It is hilarious! I almost fell off the chair while reading the script, it is so funny!," said John, on the sidelines of an event where he launched new bike models from Yamaha at the ongoing Auto Expo in the capital.

John, who made his Bollywood debut with Jism in 2003, has proved himself as an actor with films like 'Water' and New York. But he has cut down on the number of releases to one or two per year.

"This is how it has been. In 2008 there was Dostana,
New York in 2009. I would rather do sensible stuff and be remembered for them rather than merely increase the number of films in my kitty," said John.

He has recently finished shooting Abbas Tyrewala's unnamed project and will start with an action film next.

Although John made his entry into showbiz as a model, he says that he had to struggle a lot to find his footing in the film industry, without a film lineage to back him.

"I hail from the middle class and my values come from there. People identify with me because of that and look upon me for having acquired a position through sheer struggle without any backing in the industry," said John.

He made heads turn in his modelling days and went on to win hearts as the metrosexual man in Bollywood. John is now looked upon as a youth icon, an image he is totally comfortable with.

"Once you are named a role model, it is up to you how you use it. I am happy with the position and am also aware of the responsibilities that come with it," he said.

His love for bikes is also something that connects him with today's youth, but John is against any kind of show-off and propagates safe biking.

"I don't do any more stupid stunts, as I have realized that youngsters do follow me and try to ape whatever I do. I never go in for rash biking and ride really slow so that people do it too," said John.

The actor also a unique collection of helmets alongwith the number of bikes he owns.

"I mix and match helmets with bikes the way you mix and match clothes everyday,"

John Abraham has a date with aliens

Bollywood is catching up fast with its big brother Hollywood. Even as James Cameron’s movie Avatar hits the screens this Friday, a plan is being chalked out in B-Town to make a spectacular film with fusion 3D camera technique used in ‘Avatar’.

Wielding the directorial baton for the film will be Shirish Kunder, Farah Khan’s hubby, who showed his craftsmanship with special effects in his first film Jaaneman which tanked at box office. John Abraham will play the leading role.

Shirish and John have been discussing the story for about a year and have now signed a deal to produce it together. Titled ‘Alien Sahib’, the movie will be a 3D film.

John will not play an alien in the movie. But he will indeed interact and befriend an alien character.

The actor describes the film as “a simple, endearing story with beautiful emotions”.

The movie will roll in 2010 when John is done with the sequel of Dostana and another film with director Nishikant Kamat.

Why is cool dude John Abraham fuming these days?

Cool dude John Abraham normally keeps his temper under check. But these days he is very angry with director Anthony D’Souza, who has dared to rub him the wrong way. D’Souza had been spreading rumours that John had agreed to act in his films. John had no idea about it and he freaked out after repeatedly reading that he is starring in D’Souza’s ‘Blue 2’ and ‘Aerial’ (opposite Sonal Chauhan).
A source said to a news daily, “John is an extremely chilled out guy and seldom loses his cool. He was surprised to read reports of him doing Anthony’s next film. Next, he read about what the film was all about. A couple of days later, he read that he will supposedly star in Blue 2, while some reports said that the film’s title is Aerial. The worst part was Anthony’s claim that John will star in both the films.”

It was then that John decided to have a word with D’Souza. The source said, “John categorically told Anthony that it was not right on his part to announce him being part of his films that too when they had not even discussed anything. John made his displeasure quite evident. Anthony apologised and assured John that he wouldn’t mention the actor’s name in the media again.”

Another source added, “John didn’t intend to be rude with Anthony. He always respects newcomers, but according to him, Anthony chose a wrong way to gain publicity.”

The news has been confirmed by John Abraham, who said, “I have immense respect for Anthony and the fact that he wants to work with me. However, I am neither doing any film titled Aerial nor any underwater film. I am also not doing Blue 2.”

John Abraham miffed with Blue director

John Abraham is blue alright; the actor isn’t taking nicely to Anthony D’souza’s public claims to have approached him for his next two films. After the first week collections of Blue, the filmmakers went on to tag the disaster of a film as a boxoffice hit. However critics and audiences say otherwise. To distract the attention newbie director Anthony D’souza went on to announce his next two films, one being the sequel to Blue and one being Aerial, a film sources say loosely based on the Tom Cruise starrer Top Gun. However what miffed the rather cool and calm actor was when Anthony claimed that he had zeroed in on John for both the roles.

A source close to John reveals, “John didn’t take it well at all, while he has utmost respect for any director whatsoever, he was angry that Anthony told the media that John would be a part of his next two films. Which however is completely untrue and he was upset that Anthony would want to gain publicity by making such a claim. He later on spoke to Anthony about it and the director apologised in return. John only believes in the power of a script and not cheap publicity, considering Blue wasn’t well-received by the audience, he knows what to keep in mind before accepting a film.” John recently confirmed to the press saying, ‘I have immense respect for Anthony and the fact that he wants to work with me.

However, I am neither doing any film titled Aerial nor any underwater film. I am also not doing Blue 2.’When StarBoxOffice contacted Anthony D’souza about the same, he replied, “At the moment I am going through scripts and had only thought of making the sequel to Blue and Aerial. However that wasn’t set in stone and as far as John goes, I had hoped to star him in my forthcoming film but haven’t approached him or spoken to him as of yet. I will do that when I zero down on a good script or story.” If that’s the case we wonder why the hue and cry for eh!

John Abraham pushes ‘haath gadi’ on reality show

John Abraham, who’s known to be a sports enthusiast, is rubbing of his love onto the contestants of ‘Big Switch’, the upcoming reality TV show. John, who is known to be big on bikes, did the most unlikely of things; he flagged off a haath gadi race for the contestants. Which, when you factor in the theme of

the show, should not be a big surprise. ‘Big Switch’ is not about fancy stuff like bikes, it’s about simple living and surviving without material pleasures.

The show brings together 10 rich kids from across the country and pairs them up with the slum kids who act as buddies to them as they struggle to survive sans luxury. The event saw John in the company of Natasha Suri (ex Miss India) & Rekha (her partner), Pooja Misra (Model) & Shabana, Adam Bedi (Actor) & Bhavesh, Sunny Sara

(Industrialist) & Abhishek. John was like a morale booster for the contestants as he encouraged them to believe in their dreams.

Katrina snubs John as girlfriend Bipasha cheers for him

It was a fantastic starry-glitzy affair to witness and remember on the 3rd day of Lakme Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010. While John Abraham walked the ramp as a showstopper for designer Rocky S, two gorgeous ladies – Bipasha and Katrina – were apparently very much there to cheer for him. Even though both could be seen sitting in the front row, looking forward to the hunk’s ramp walk, it was only Bips, who was spotted cheering for John, while Kat seemed to be snubbing him.

What quite evidently generated curiosity was the way Bipasha’s ‘not so good friend’ Katrina snubbed ‘friend’ John while he was sashaying down the ramp, apparently because Bipasha was right there. Both the ladies made their tiff obvious by not exchanging pleasantries at all.

A source revealed that as John came sashaying down the ramp, Katrina looked up vaguely, and John too didn’t pay attention to her.

A source revealed that Katrina chose to sit way away from Bipasha, though both were in the front row. While Katrina sat with her manager Sandhya, Bipasha sat next to Dia Mirza. Katrina reportedly chose not to answer questions by the media regarding her relationship with Bipasha.

Well, it seems like some real war is going on there!

John Abraham hit hard by economic Recession

Thanks to the recession, John Abraham’s film, which was to be directed by Sabal Shekhawat and produced by Indian Films (Studio 18), has come to a halt. Studio 18 has backed out ofthe film giving recession as the reason for doing so.

Whilethe filmhasn’t been shelved because both John and Sabal are very keen on doing it, though they are not sure when the movie will start filming. Studio 18 felt that the budget of the film was too high for recessionary times and that they should bring it down.

But Sabal wasn’t ready [^] to do so. John too, is supporting Sabal (Sabal is the director who gave John his first modelling break). They have even decided on Turkey as their location for the shoot and a new producer is keen on doing the film [^].

I was shy and full of pimples as a Teenager: John Abraham

Believe it or not but Bollywood hunk John Abraham was very shy as a school boy and would never look at girls eye-to-eye because of his pimples.

"I used to be very shy...there was a time when my face was full of pimples and I never used to look up when in the company of girls so much so that they used to feel that I was such a shy, sweet, decent boy. Only I couldn't tell them that my face is full of pimples and that is the only reason I'm looking down," John said.

Talking to director Farah Khan on her chat show Tere Mere Beach Mein to be broadcast tomorrow, the actor who enjoys a strong female fan base now revealed that he always lost the girls he had a crush on due to his shyness.

"I was very shy in school and all the girls I had a crush on liked someone else....now it's changed a bit," he said.

When asked whether it was his girlfriend actress Bipasha Basu, who pursued him into a relationship, the actor said, "No, I had changed totally by then. I had become like a raging bull".

John-Kat share intimate Scenes in New York, does Sallu know?

We wonder what Salman Khan will say when he sees the music video of Mere Sang from Kabir Khan's New York.

The track which has Katrina and John Abraham indulge in passionate love-making and even a kiss on the lips, is perhaps an attempt to showcase the chemistry between the actors.

But is that chemistry forced or for real? Watch the music video (http://is.gd/18lXU) right to the end, or see the clips alongside and be the judge. After all, your own eyes won't decieve you.
