Shahrukh Khan break into Twitter top-50!

It’s just 10 days after Shahrukh Khan joined social networking site Twitter and he has managed to get 68,000 followers. With this he has beaten all other opening records plus King Khan has also entered into the Twitter top-50 Re-tweet List. SRK is the first Indian to break into the top-50 list. We can expect Shahrukh to do excellent things.

The Twitter re-tweet rank is calculated by the site www.retweetrank.com, and tells the number of times a user has been re-tweeted by others lately.The top twitter users who have been most re-tweeted newly, are listed in the leader board on the site. These people are giving the most interesting content across Twitter and now we have Shahrukh in the list do to it.

Currently, SRK stands at 40th position in the list. Good news for all SRK fans. Isn’t it?

Shahrukh Khan turns a software engineer

As Shah Rukh Khan gets ready for his forthcoming project Ra 1 we get to hear more about SRK’s role and the movie. Shah Rukh himself is super excited about his role. Grapevine has it that Shah Rukh plays a software engineer who creates a monster that goes out of control and kills people! The film is a science fiction thriller and will have lots of special effects.

Sources close to the production house inform that “SRK plays a techie named Shekhar who’s so obsessed with video games that he creates a monster for one of the games. Trouble begins when the virtual monster takes a real form and begins killing people. To tame the beast, Shekhar transforms himself into a virtual character. Thereby begins the battle between Shekhar and the monster.”

As the film’s producer, SRK is making sure that the production team has the best minds and hands. While Anubhav Sinha has been roped in to direct the flick, Ueli Steiger (cinematographer of ‘10,000 BC’) will handle the camera and David Benullo (of ‘Hallowed Ground’) is the screenplay writer. Shooting is likely to begin in the first quarter of 2010.

Shahrukh Khan bowled over by 'Avatar'

It’s the movie that has got the world talking. Director-producer James Cameron has raised the bar with his 3-D science fiction epic film Avatar which is set in 2154 AD on an Earth-sized planet called Pandora around Alpha Centauri, the closest star system to the Earth after the Sun.

Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan saw the movie as a guest at a special screening in suburban Mumbai and was left speechless after the flick. So bowled over was he that he requested the Indian CEO of the film’s international distributor to hold another screening of the film for him and his kids and wife in the coming days.

The studio people plan to hold the second screening on Saturday, but the time and venue is yet to be finalized.

Shahrukh’s love for sci-fi isn’t secret. His production house is already in the process of making Ra.One, a sci-fi thriller starring SRK as a superhero.

Shahrukh Khan looks west for his Ra 1

Shahrukh Khan wants his Ra 1 look to be special from any of glitter town’s earlier movies.So, this time there won’t be the usual Manish Malhotra, Anaita Shroff or even Karan Johar to design his costumes for his upcoming sci-fi movie venture Ra 1. Not taking any chances, King Khan has sought the services of a London- based designer to help him with the costumes. The movie will be directed by Anubhav Sinha.

Johar, one of SRK’s close friends, usually has a say in what the top actor wears not just in films, but also in real life. But then, SRK is very sure about his priorities. He is not working in a Gucci Gucci Hota Hai for Johar, sources say.We had earlier seen SRK wearing a superhero costume for a scene in filmmaker Farah Khan’s superhit movie.

King Khan has scheduled a London trip just for a costume trial.The movie will go on the floors soon after he finishes the publicity blitz for his big finances project My Name is Khan. King Khan’s other movie Dulha Mil Gaya releases soon in which he has a small role.

Ranbir Kapoor in awe of Shahrukh Khan

The newest stud in Bollywood, Ranbir Kapoor, is merely four films old, but he is already being compared to the Badshah of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan.Well this comparison comes easy, as Ranbir does romantic scene with as much ease as the suave Shahrukh Khan, who is a veteran in enacting romantic scenes.

When we asked Ranbir about this, he said, “I think comparing me with Shahrukh Khan would be like insulting him. Till now, I have done only 3 films, which are by no ways a parameter to compare me with him. In my last film ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ I have played a romantic character, where in ‘Rocket Singh –Salesman of the year’ there is romance, but on a different level.”

Well however hard Ranbir might try to deny, the fact remains that people like him in romantic roles, as he sure is a charmer! No doubt Ranbir must be happy to be compared with Shahrukh, after all it is SRK who is the benchmark of success in Bollywood these days.

Shahrukh Khan refuses to accept Farah’s request

Once touted as filmdom’s best buddies, Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan have now fallen apart. And it’s all owing to Farah’s efforts of making a Khan out of Akshay Kumar. After Farah signed Akshay to star in her flick ‘Tees Maar Khan’, the director was left dumbfounded when Shah Rukh turned down her offer to grace her much anticipated lingerie show for a renowned brand.

And while King Khan has decided to give a royal ignore to Farah’s personal invite, her newfound best buddy Akshay has confirmed to make a smashing entry at the show. So what’s the cause of all this acrimony? If sources are to be believed, then ever since Farah signed on Akshay for her home production, Shah Rukh has been breathing fire.

And considering that SRK has always stood by his pals and accepted their film offers without much ado, he seems to have a valid reason to fume and fuss.Confirming the news a source said, “Farah has called her new favourite star Akshay Kumar and her old friend Shah Rukh Khan too. While Akshay agreed to be at the show, SRK turned down her invitation saying he is too embarrassed to be a part of such lingerie shows”.

Anushka Sharma cannot forget Shah Rukh’s smell!

It seems like the magnetic personality of Shah Rukh Khan attracts one and all. Ask the chubby-faced Anushka Sharma, who debuted opposite the King Khan in ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’! The girl is still hanging on to the memories of working with the ‘Baadshah’ and cannot stop herself from speaking about him at any given opportunity. Recently, in an interview, the girl said, “One thing I can`t forget about SRK is his smell. He smells superb. He used to smell different each time. I would be like, `Wow man! Aamir and SRK join hands for Paa’s sake

Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan have reportedly decided to forget their rivalry for the sake of Paa. Yes, come December and the supposedly warring Khans will join hands for the premiere of R. Balki’s Amitabh Bachchan-starrer in Mumbai. Confirming the good news, Big B writes on his blog: “Aamir and Shah Rukh have both assured me of their presence there, today, as I begin to send out letters and requests to block the said date from the industry.” On the other hand, the London and Dubai premieres of Paa have been cancelled. “Several issues have cropped up and it would not be prudent to go ahead with it, under such uncertain pressures and circumstances.

But Mumbai (premiere) is on … at IMAX Wadala on the 3rd of December,” Bachchan senior’s blog further informs.He is also gearing up to organise Bachchan Sandhya as a tribute to his late father, poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.”Along with this (Paa premiere) is the preparation for November 28 and the ‘Bachchan Sandhya’ at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. (I am busy with) the arrangements, the invitees, the programme and its functions, rehearsals for the recitation and getting the family to gear up for its participation,” Bachchan adds.

Aamir and the Bachchans have been busy promoting their movies. Aamir’s muchawaited 3 Idiots will release on December 24.

Shahrukh Khan ignores Big B’s birthday wish

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan seems to have run out of topics to post on his blog. In his latest post Big B said that he had wished Shahrukh Khan on his birthday (November 2) through an SMS but he is still waiting for an acknowledgement. He further wrote wrote that it was pretty strange for Shahrukh not to reply him back.

Amitabh wrote “Nov 2 was Shahrukh’s birthday and I may have been the very early wishers to him, but he still has not acknowledged. Mobile must have crashed with the number of wishes he had continued to receive throughout the day. Maybe I should send him a reminder. Most unlike him. I wished Gauri and him for their anniversary a few days back and they responded. But why not now!??”

The two giants of the Indian cinema who have starred together in movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Mohabbatein are always said to be in competition with each other. Shahrukh Khan dumps Farah’s husband

Honeymoon Travels director Reema Kagti, and not Shirish Kunder, is now developing Zoya Factor. The film, produced by Shahrukh Khan’s production company Red Chillies, is an adaptation of the best-selling novel of the same name penned by Anuja Chauhan. Says a source, “Differences arose between SRK and Farah Khan’s hubby over the screenplay and script. They had severe creative issues. Both were looking at the script with a different vision.” At this point, SRK decided to change his director.SRK offered the film to Reema as she seemed to understand what he wanted to do with the film. But he forgot to tell Shirish that he was giving the project to someone else to work on.

Shirish found out by accident that the film no longer had his name on it. When Farah heard this, she was hurt and upset at the manner in which her hubby has been ousted. Adds the source, “Shirish had started work on the film and was looking for an actor who would play a cricketer. The film was supposed to go on the floors early next year.”Reema maintains, “I am writing the screenplay of the film, not directing it. Vishal Punjabi is directing Zoya Factor.” Vishal was the visual effects producer for the SRK starrer Paheli which he had also produced. Meanwhile, Shirish says, “I was never supposed to direct Zoya Factor, only Joker.” SRK remained unavailable for comment.What is Zoya Factor?

Shahrukh Khan will shoot for Fauji sequel

There has been a lot of talk about Shah Rukh Khan’s company Red Chilies Idiot Box Entertainment buying the rights for a sequel to Fauji, a TV serial that the actor had worked in about two decades ago. SRK, it was assumed, might not be a part of the show.

But he admits that he will be shooting for a few initial scenes of the show.” I will shoot for a few scenes in the show,” says SRK, who is easily the biggest star who made it to movies from TV. But he adds that his presence would be limited in the show as his character would be of a dead man.

This is SRK’s first appearance in a fictional TV show since he made it big in tinsel town.He has hosted shows such as Kaun Banega Crorepati and Kya Aap Panchvi Paas Se Tez Hain?

Shahrukh Khan aims for eight pack abs

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has a special love for Delhi. After all, he hails from this city. So, he was too happy by participating in the recently held November 1 Airtel Delhi Half Marathon. He is a sportsman but no more plays hockey since he has had a knee injury.The actor promised Delhiites that he would run with them more next time, say two kilometers, but once he gets the eight pack look.

The super duper hero is not ready to forget arch rival Aamir Khan’s eight pack abs! He said, “Delhi lives in my heart. I used to participate in 100 and 200 meters races while in school.I have six-pack abs now, I will get eight packs as well. And once I am fit, I will participate in this marathon.” He was very excited to see people from all ages, and especially children, participating in the Delhi Half Marathon.

Along with studies, sport is equally important for one’s progress. For that, such events are very important. Along with sports like cricket and hockey, India is also making progress in the field of boxing now,’ he proudly announced.

No room for Shahrukh Khan at Lok Nayak

Shah Rukh Khan fell from the roof of his Farrukhabad home in Uttar Pradesh and broke his leg. That was in September. By the end of October, undergoing treatment at the government-run Lok Nayak Hospital in Central Delhi, the eight-year-old boy’s name was drawing more attention than his wounded leg. The namesake of one of India’s biggest cine stars and son of a rickshaw puller, Shah Rukh Khan did not even have a bed for himself at the hospital.After the first round of treatment, Khan was asked to vacate the bed in the orthopaedic ward to make room for the next patient.Sprawled on the cold corridor of the main hospital building, the little boy cried. “He is in a lot of pain even though the doctors plastered his leg after stitching the wounds,” said his father Abrahim, 39, who earns Rs 35-40 a day pulling a rickshaw.

The doctors will open the bandage and also cut his stitches two days later. We can still fight the cold. I only hope my son does not catch fever,” he told HT on October 23.Located close to Delhi Gate and both Old and New Delhi railway stations, almost 6,000 patients visit the hospital every day. This does not include the 1,200 patients admitted in the wards.The hospital, however, is designed to treat only 1,000 OPD patients and 320 admitted patients on a daily basis.Neither the infrastructure nor the bed strength was planned to cater to the existing workload,” said Dr Amit Banerjee, medical superintendent, Lok Nayak Hospital.“We receive patients not only from the entire old Delhi area but also from neighbouring states.”

With a doctor-patient ratio of 1: 40 — one doctor for every 40 patients — bed shortages and an overcrowded waiting area are an everyday realityat the hospital.That Lok Nayak Hospital also shares its sole waiting room with G. B. Pant hospital — which in turn has a daily patient footfall off over 3,000 — makes matters worse.“We are examining the option of creating new waiting areas to solve the problem of overcrowding,” Dr Banerjee said.

Kareena and SRK are superheroes

Kareena and SRK were paired with each other in Santosh Sivan’s Asoka in 2001. They will now be reunited as an onscreen pair in Anubhav Sinha’s Ra One, Shah Rukh’s home production.A source tells us, “Ra One is a science-fiction film set in the future in which Shah Rukh plays a superhero. So he will be seen wearing a cape, his underwear over his pants, flying over skyscrapers and saving the day.Technically, Ra One will be India’s third superhero film, Krishh and Drona being the first two. Ra One is a big budget film with never-before seen special effects.”

About Kareena’s role in the movie, our source said, “An actor and star of Kareena’s stature and caliber will not be happy playing just a glam doll so she has signed because she has been given a substantial role in the film.She is super fit and lean too and can mould herself according to any role. The stunning star will also get to kick some butt after Tashan.Being signed on for Ra One is a big deal for Kareena because it will be one of the most anticipated releases of 2010. She already has KJo’s Stepmom remake.

Moreover, working in Ra One will increase her chances of playing the lead in Farah Khan’s Happy New Year. Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone are the other actors who are eyeing the film.”Ra One is directed by Anubhav Sinha of Dus, Tum Bin and Cash fame. The director has an eye for action and his songs (Dus Bahane, Cash, and Naughty Naughty) are chartbusters. Filming will begin in US in December followed be a schedule in Mumbai.

Shahrukh Khan patches up with Sunny Deol

Bollywood actors Shahrukh Khan and Sunny Deol took 16 years to patch up. What took them so long? Their fight during the making of Yash Chopra’s Darr was so fierce that they stopped speaking to each other since then. The good news is that they have finally patched up.The person responsible for the patch up was Subhash Ghai, who hosted a party on Saturday night.

Shahrukh arrived early for the party and was with Karan Johar and friends in one of the private sections. He took Sunny to the private section, headed straight to Shahrukh and reintroduced them. The actors shook hands and ended up chatting for a long time as if nothing had happened in the past.

Sunny left the party early while Shahrukh’s friends gather to celebrate his wedding anniversary when the clock struck midnight.All is well that ends well!

Ranbir replaces SRK as YRF’s favourite actor

Bollywood’s hot couple Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are in the news for all the wrong reasons once again. The grapevine is abuzz with the news that they are not on talking terms after fighting for a couple of days. Following the trouble in their relationship, they didn’t even attend Karan Johar’s show.They were spotted at designer Shabina Khan’s bash but everyone present could sense the trouble between them.

It added that fights happen in every relationship.It maybe recalled that Ranbir has been linked to Katrina Kaif, his co-star in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and the upcoming Rajneeti.

Aditya Chopra dumps Shahrukh Khan

It seems Yash Raj Films is finally ready to think beyond their resident superstar Shah Rukh Khan. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Aditya Chopra is all set to start his fourth directorial venture. Over the last two decades Aditya Chopra has only managed to make three films – Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge, Mohabbatein, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. But now the director is keen on reducing the gap between his films.

Mumbai Mirror reports that Aditya Chopra was keen to direct Dhoom 3 with Shah Rukh Khan. But a suitable script could not be finalised. Yash Chopra too has not finalised on what to make after Veer Zara. So in the meanwhile Aditya Chopra has locked on to a bubbly love story – on the lines of his landmark debut film. And Aditya Chopra is keen on casting Ranbir Kapoor – who is not only a close friend but has also starred in two Yash Raj projects.

SRK on the other hand has his hands full with Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2 and Farah Khan’s Happy New Year.
