Big B postpones father’s anniversary for Bigg Boss

Amitabh Bachchan has postponed his father poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s anniversary celebrations by a day, as the megastar will be busy shooting for reality show Bigg Boss on that day. The 67-year-old star, who is the host of Bigg Boss, has written in his blog that he will be celebrating his father’s birthday on November 28 instead of 27, which is a Friday, as he will be shooting that day.”There is the matter of my Father’s birth anniversary being celebrated on the 28th November.His birthday is on the 27th, but I record Bigg Boss on a Friday so that would be not possible, hence the next day,” Amitabh wrote.

The entire Bachchan family, including the family of Amitabh’s brother Ajitabh, are preparing for a special celebration.”Preparations for that are afoot. I shall be reciting and singing my Father’s works and hopefully the family shall be putting in their bit – Abhishek, Shweta and Aishwarya along with Ajitabh?s children,” he added. This year will be the late poet’s 101 birth anniversary and the star is anticipating a grand commemoration. “It shall be 101 years since his birth and it is apt to think of a commemoration.

It will probably be at the Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan since it is this institution that has organized the event,” he wrote.

Shahrukh Khan ignores Big B’s birthday wish

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan seems to have run out of topics to post on his blog. In his latest post Big B said that he had wished Shahrukh Khan on his birthday (November 2) through an SMS but he is still waiting for an acknowledgement. He further wrote wrote that it was pretty strange for Shahrukh not to reply him back.

Amitabh wrote “Nov 2 was Shahrukh’s birthday and I may have been the very early wishers to him, but he still has not acknowledged. Mobile must have crashed with the number of wishes he had continued to receive throughout the day. Maybe I should send him a reminder. Most unlike him. I wished Gauri and him for their anniversary a few days back and they responded. But why not now!??”

The two giants of the Indian cinema who have starred together in movies like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Mohabbatein are always said to be in competition with each other. Both of them have publicly denied this and said that this is a creation of the media. Well we hope Shahrukh acknowledges Big B’s wish better late than never.

Big B all praises for Sachin Tendulkar

Like all of us, Sachin Tendulkar is also a fan of Big B. But little did we know that Big B also adores the LittleMaster. Infact Big B derives such pleasure in watching Sachin bat that he has delayed his shoot or postponed appointment innumerable times.

Big says, “It is a marvel that a sportsman can have such an extended, achievement-filled life. His recent performance (referring to Sachin’s 175 in Hyderabad) was better than all those much younger than him. He is a true genius!

On learning that Sachin is a fan of Big B, the icon said, “I am so, so humbled by this fact. It is Sachin’s greatness that he should consider me to be capable of his affection and love.”

Sachin completing his 20 years in International cricket has one more reason to smile after receiving all praises from none other than Big B himself.

'I wanted to remove every bit of Amitabh Bachchon'

The film Paa, in which Amitabh Bachchan plays a patient of a rare disorder called progeria is not an educational movie, but in fact an "emotional story about a father and son", says director R Balki.

While promoting the film along with its stars Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan at an Andheri cinema hall, Balki said: "This is a family drama where incidentally Amitabh Bachchan, who is suffering from progeria, plays the role of Abhishek's son. This movie is not about educating people on progeria."

"It is an emotional story about a father and son."

Progeria is an extremely rare condition of early ageing. Those born with progeria typically live about 13 years, although many have been known to live into their late teens and early twenties.

Asked about the film Abhishek -- Amitabh's son in real life -- joked: "Amitabh was a very troublesome child all through the film."

Asked how she felt playing Amitabh's mother in the film, Vidya said: "I was very apprehensive."

Balki revealed that he wanted a very unconventional look for Amitabh in the movie. "I wanted to remove every bit of Amitabh Bachchan we know and wanted to build an absolutely new character," he said.

Talking about the make up Amitabh had to put on during the film Abhishek said: "It used to take four hours to put on the make-up and two hours to remove it."

Balki revealed that the script was written keeping Amitabh in mind. "It's not that I wrote a script and then thought of casting Amitabh, rather I wrote it keeping him in mind," said Balki.

He said that Amitabh not only looks like a 13-year-old boy in the film but also changed his voice and mannerism to fit the role.

Abhishek has been in the film industry for a long time but "this is the first time I am working for my father's production house", he revealed. Paa is releasing Nov 13.
