The Ex- Miss Universe Sushmita Sen had nearly withdrawn herself from the ‘Miss India Contest’ after she heard that Aishwarya Rai was also participating in it. However, after lots of convincing Sushmita Sen finally agreed to appear in the contest.

However, amazingly, Sushmita won the the title of ‘Femina Miss India’ beating Aishwarya Rai and Diya Mirza, who were the runner up the second runner up. Held in Manila, Philippines in 1994, Sushmita represented India at the age of eighteen and became the first Indian woman to become Miss Universe.

Aishwarya and Diya too, set the whole world praise for Indian beauty as they too won the title of Miss World and Miss Asia Pacific respectively. That was the first and only time in our history that Indian girls bagged all the three awards to themselves in that year.

Aishwarya posts her first message on Twitter

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently connected with her fans via Twitter. However, she used husband Abhishek’s account to post her message.

Recently Ash got a day off from her busy work schedule. She had been shooting back-to-back for “Raavan” and two more Tamil films. She also some other commitments which kept her on her toes, travelling from one place to another. And, she hardly got to spend any time with Abhishek.

So on her day off, she packed her bags and went to Goa where Abhi was shooting.

Abhishek was shocked to see her on the sets. He was also thrilled that she had come all the way to spend a day with him.

Post his shoot they had a cozy dinner. But before flying back to Mumbai, Ash decided to connect with all her fans worldwide. So she posted her first Tweet from Abhishek’s account.

This is what she wrote: “This is officially my first tweet. I got a day off so had to swing by and see my baby. I will be back to work tomorrow.”

Ash bumps into her ex-flame Salman

Even as his girlfriend Katrina Kaif is reeling at the Breach Candy Hospital for bad physical condition, Salman Khan had a odd encounter a few days ago that must have made him forget the world around him at least for a while. He bumped into his ex-flame Aishwarya Rai while shooting for his newest movie Veer.It happened at the Mehboob Studios where Aishwarya is shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish.

Salman too is eventful shooting for the promo of Veer.Sources said that Salman emerged from his car and was talking on phone with a smile on his face. In the mean time, Aishwarya too was walking towards her van. Sources said that the ex-lovers’ eyes did meet for a moment and then chose to look the other way. Salman, who was all smiles on phone, turned serious and his smile turned into a frown. Even as Salman was walking around uneasily, Aishwarya entered her van instantly.

It may be recalled that the lovers had an ugly break-up after seeing each other for several years. Aishwarya is now cheerfully married to Abhishek Bachchan while Salman is going steady with Katrina Kaif.

Aishwarya Rai back on Bhansali’s list

Aishwarya and Sanjay Bhansali have teamed up yet again for the upcoming film Guzarish. After Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas this is the third film that Ash will be doing for Bhansali. Ash who shares a warm relationship with Bhansali says, “You know Sanjay and I share a great rapport, we didn’t do the last movies together and the crew was telling me things were just not the same.”

So does that mean, Sanjay made a mistake by choosing Rani Mukherjee for Black and Sonam Kapoor for Sawariyaa? No clue about that but Ash elaborates on how she has always been the right choice.”Sanjay and I have this relationship we don’t have to ask or dwell on stuff we know exactly what the other wants.

Vidya borrows a saree from Aishwarya’s wardrobe?

All eyes were on Vidya Balan at the film Paa’s premiere, not only because she plays the lead role opposite Abhishek Bachchan in the movie, but also because she was wearing a saree which seemed quite familiar.The actress, who has time and again faced flak for wearing wrong kind of clothes, was wearing a beautiful saree this time but there was a hiccup – it appeared to be straight out of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s wardrobe!

With the release date of the much-anticipated film Paa drawing near, former Miss World turned actress Aishwarya Bachchan has been bombarded with numerous questions though she is not part of the film, as her hubby plays the father of her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan. And the most asked question is – will your hubby Abhishek Bachchan make a good paa (father)?

Aishwarya has given an answer that the Bachchans fans would like to hear. She said that her husband would surely make a good father, as he is very real, rooted and very human. She added that he is so great with kids. But they haven’t started a family, right? Well, Ash has seen her hubby having good time with his niece and nephew since the time they were babies. So, she is very sure that he would make a wonderful father.

Mythology connects Aishwarya and Katrina

Two of the most beautiful actresses are connected by an uncanny coincidence. The forthcoming films of both the stunners are based on the religious Hindu epics Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Mani Ratnam’s Raavan, starring Aishwarya Rai as Sita, is based on Ramayana. It has south star Vikram playing Ash’s hubby and Abhishek Bachchan playing the villain who kidnaps Ash and takes her into a forest. Govinda’s character, based on Lord Hanuman, is that of a forest guard who helps trace Ash.

Prakash Jha’s film Rajneeti, on the other hand, is based on Mahabharata. The film, a political thriller, borrows a great deal from the politics of Mahabharata. Ranbir Kapoor plays an Arjun-like character who, with the help of his mentor, takes on his rivals. Katrina too plays a politico in the movie that stars a host of actors including Ajay Devgan, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai and Nana Patekar.

Both ‘Raavan’ and ‘Rajneeti’ have Ash and Katrina in non-glam roles; the stunners are dressed demurely in sarees. Another coincidence is that both the films are set to release in May next year. Though it’s unlikely that the films would clash at the marquee, they would, at best, release with a gap of two weeks in between.

Who will emerge victorious in this battle of supremacy at the box office, we’ll know next year.

Lyricist cum director Javed Akhtar might have just done the impossible of casting Aishwarya Bachchan and Salman Khan for his upcoming movie. Tentatively titled Ajab Hai Ishq, Javed has already cast Salman will be playing the lead role. There is buzz around the B-Town that Javed is trying to rope in Aishwarya to star opposite Salman in the loves story.

Small-time filmmaker Javed Khan is all set to make a film that is said to be based on one of the most talked about love stories in Bollywood — that of Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai. The film titled Ajab Hai Ishq is gearing up to go on the floors soon. Javed Khan, who is producing the film and also playing the lead role of Salman Khan in the film, says, “If a love story is depicted authentically and emotionally, the film will surely attract the audience.

Ajab Hai Ishq is a love triangle. The story resembles the real life story of Ash and Sallu.”In real life, the two actors may have gone their separate ways, but Javed will show a different version. “I want to send home the message that if you love someone, you should get married to her or him. Leaving your loved one in the lurch will not bring peace in your life.”

Interestingly, singer Salamat, who recorded the title track of the film recently, had earlier sung the emotional number Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam from the Salman-Ash film by the same name.

Aishwarya missed shooting for Ravana on Monday because she was celebrating Bhai Dooj, she says,“Mani sir was scheduled to shoot a train scene at Lonavla station on Monday and Tuesday withAishwarya and South actor Vikram. Although Mani sir had permission to shoot only for two days at the station, Aishwarya couldn’t make it on one of the days because of a family ritual. Without wasting time, Mani sir continued to shoot the scene with Vikram and a few portions of some action scenes and packed up early in the evening.Aishwarya and her husband Abhishek Bachchan reached Amby Valley near Lonavla late on Monday night.”

“Mani Ratnam, his wife Suhasini and DOP Santosh Sivan spent the night at Amby Valley along with Abhi-Ash. Next morning, they went to Lonavla station whereAishwarya shot with Vikram. The train sequence started at Lonavla and went up to Karjat. The film’s cast and crew went to and fro four times on Tuesday.”

Why Aishwarya Rai Refuses Reality Show

Aishwarya Rai, who was supposed to feature on Sony TV’s reality show Dance Premier League, couldn’t accept the offer due to her packed schedule and not on account of money issues, her publicist said on Tuesday (Oct 13). A recent news story issued by a channel suggested Aishwarya Rai was ousted by Madhuri Dixit for one of their reality shows, citing money as an issue. We would wish to clarify that this is an act of fiction, fact being that Aishwarya, who is known to be a thorough professional, had to refuse the show on account of her commitment to films, her publicist said in a press statement.

The show is now being judged by Rani Mukerji along with dance guru Shiamak Davar.Aishwarya is currently busy shooting Sanjay Leela’s Guzaarish.Her movies like ‘Endhiran’, ‘Action Replay’ and ‘Raavan’ are all nearing completion, so the subject of money and costing never did arise as discussions did not go beyond schedules and dates. The proposal had come to Aishwarya through the Moranis (the show producers) and even Shiamak pushed Aishwarya to do the show, but the dates could just not be worked out, said the publicist.
