Amitabh is Aishwarya’s time keeper!

Bollywood’s leading beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan believes that when it comes to time management, there is no better example than her father-in-law, megastar Amitabh Bachchan. The 36-year-old actress who is currently shooting Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzarish with Hrithik Roshan, said that the Big B inspires her to be punctual.”His commitment and dedication is an example for everyone to follow,” Ash told reporters last night at the launch of a new product of the international watch brand she endorses.

The actress who is a globally known face thanks to her high-end endorsement deals and international films like The Pink Panther and Bride and Prejudice said that she likes to enjoy the present and live it to the fullest whether it is professional or family commitments.”We live such busy and hectic lives that we just sail through the moment. The pace of our lives is so hectic that we don’t get to feel what now is all about,” she said.

The former beauty queen who recently completed shooting for Mani Ratnam’s Raavan slated for a mid-2010 release, said that she does not have any regrets.”I have a positive approach. Times can be good or bad. I look at all experiences as a learning curve. Sanjay (Bhansali) reminded me that Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam has completed ten years. Subhash Ghai also recalled that Taal has also turned 10. Times flies fast and I consider myself blessed,” the actress said.

Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan to be re-introduced in ‘Paa’

Touted as the biggest Bollywood celebrity, after spending nearly forty years in the showbiz business, Amitabh Bachchan still loves taking challenges as the 66 year old actor will be playing a 12-year old kid in his upcoming flick ‘Paa.’ Moreover, the maverick actor will be re-introduced as a debutant in the credit titles of the flick.
Talking to a news daily, director of ‘Paa’ Balki confirmed the reports and said, “The credits will read ‘Starring Abhishek Bachchan…Vidya Balan… Introducing Amitabh Bachchan.’ I truly believe this is Mr Bachchan’s first film, because he has never played a 12-year-old. His character is named Auro… No, it’s not short for Aurobindo. He’s just…Auro. And if there are any members of the audience who haven’t seen him before, they won’t recognise him at all in the film.”

Grapevine has it that Amitabh was completely at home when playing the character of a 12 year-old kid. Speaking about the maverick Big B and his transformation as a young kid, an ecstatic Balki said, “Why 12-year-old? Mr Bachchan behaved like a 10-year-old on the sets. He just allowed the child within him to surface to become Auro. He threw so many tantrums just like an uncontrollable child that we had to literally discipline him at times. On the sets, he would also stomp his feet like a brat and just go on whining, ‘I want…I want…I want!’ until he got what he wanted. We were frightened by the level he had imbibed his character.”

Balki elucidated the character of Auro and Big B’s prosthetics as, “Mr Bachchan’s gummed grin has to be seen to be believed. No matter how prepared you are as a filmmaker to work with this all-pervasive idol of an actor, you are still taken aback by what he does to his character.”

With Auro being a chocolate addict, regardless of his health, Amitabh constantly snacked on chocolates as, “We had to often pull those bars of chocolate away from his hands. You see, chocolates are good for the metabolism level of those who suffer from Progeria. So Auro had to be shown constantly eating chocolates,” said Balki.

Joking on Amitabh Bachchan’s new avatar, a teasing Balki said, “I sure hope the awards will honour him in the child category or the debutant category.”
