Abhishek calls me 'jiggly poo': John Abraham

Bollywood hunk John Abraham, who is back to playing his gay self in the sequel to Dostana with Abhishek Bachchan, says that the junior B has named him "jiggly poo".

The actors became friends while working together in the gay comedy and continue to share the same equation.

"After we starred together in Dostana, Abhishek has nicknamed me as his 'jiggly poo'. He sends me messages on my birthday saying 'Happy Birthday Jiggly Poo'!," said John.

John and Abhishek called each other the same even in the film, and the name seems to have stuck on since then.

The 2008 film, which had John playing a lothario pretending to be in a homosexual relation with Abhishek, was directed by Tarun Mansukhani and also starred Priyanka Chopra.

The 37-year-old actor will be reprising the same role in the sequel too, which will be filmed from June this year.

"The sequel will pick up from where Dostana left off. So there is me and Abhishek playing the same characters again," he said.

Promising that the sequel will be even more fun-filled, the actor said, "It is hilarious! I almost fell off the chair while reading the script, it is so funny!," said John, on the sidelines of an event where he launched new bike models from Yamaha at the ongoing Auto Expo in the capital.

John, who made his Bollywood debut with Jism in 2003, has proved himself as an actor with films like 'Water' and New York. But he has cut down on the number of releases to one or two per year.

"This is how it has been. In 2008 there was Dostana,
New York in 2009. I would rather do sensible stuff and be remembered for them rather than merely increase the number of films in my kitty," said John.

He has recently finished shooting Abbas Tyrewala's unnamed project and will start with an action film next.

Although John made his entry into showbiz as a model, he says that he had to struggle a lot to find his footing in the film industry, without a film lineage to back him.

"I hail from the middle class and my values come from there. People identify with me because of that and look upon me for having acquired a position through sheer struggle without any backing in the industry," said John.

He made heads turn in his modelling days and went on to win hearts as the metrosexual man in Bollywood. John is now looked upon as a youth icon, an image he is totally comfortable with.

"Once you are named a role model, it is up to you how you use it. I am happy with the position and am also aware of the responsibilities that come with it," he said.

His love for bikes is also something that connects him with today's youth, but John is against any kind of show-off and propagates safe biking.

"I don't do any more stupid stunts, as I have realized that youngsters do follow me and try to ape whatever I do. I never go in for rash biking and ride really slow so that people do it too," said John.

The actor also a unique collection of helmets alongwith the number of bikes he owns.

"I mix and match helmets with bikes the way you mix and match clothes everyday,"

I Will Carry Abhishek's kid;; Vidya Balan

After playing with the senior Bachchan in her upcoming film PAA, Vidya Balan is keen to repeat the same act in real life too. But, the kids have to be Abhishek's own.

This is not something we are writing out of imagination. These are Vidya's latest thoughts which she shared to a full packed media gathering while talking about her film PAA.

Vidya, who was answering media queries about the film, came to Abhishek's rescue when an overenthusiastic scribe asked Abhi if he would carry his own kids the way he carried Big B on his shoulders.

While Abhishek was preparing to reply, Vidya pitched in and said that if "Abhi doesn't carry his own kids on his shoulders I will carry them on mine."

This response from Vidya surely startled the gathered audience. Many even bowled over by her witty reply. Now, how soon it will be before Vidya can actually carry Abhi and Ash's kid on her shoulders is something the Bachchan Parivaar can tell her the best.

Abhishek will make a good father: Aishwarya

With the release date of the much-anticipated film Paa drawing near, former Miss World turned actress Aishwarya Bachchan has been bombarded with numerous questions though she is not part of the film, as her hubby plays the father of her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan. And the most asked question is – will your hubby Abhishek Bachchan make a good paa (father)?

Aishwarya has given an answer that the Bachchans fans would like to hear. She said that her husband would surely make a good father, as he is very real, rooted and very human. She added that he is so great with kids. But they haven’t started a family, right? Well, Ash has seen her hubby having good time with his niece and nephew since the time they were babies. So, she is very sure that he would make a wonderful father.

She said that she is looking forward to motherhood. She added that she has no gender (boy/girl) preference and would welcome whatever God has in store for them.At the moment, Ash is concentrating on marketing Paa and helping her father-in-law for the premiere of the film to be held tomorrow (3rd Dec.). The film features Amitabh, Abhishek and Vidya Balan in the lead roles. It is produced under the Bachchans home banner AB Corp Ltd and directed by Balki.

Playing Auro’s dad was challenging: Abhishek

It’s a big challenge for anyone to play the role of the father of a person who taught him to walk and act. In the movie Paa, Abhishek Bachchan plays the father of Auro, enacted by his father Amitabh Bachchan. For him, it was an entirely different experience. In an exclusive interview to Aaj Tak’s Manish Dubey, Abhishek Bachchan says that when he was offered the role in Paa, he immediately accepted it. The reason: he might never get another chance to play the role of his father’s father. He says he had spent a lot of time on his father’s back, and now he is happy to give Auro a ride on his back.Abhishek says he can’t say if what he has done in his movies is worth praising or not and adds that it’s the media and the people to decide on this.

Speaking about Paa, Abhishek says that Auro is a naughty character and playing his father was a challenging task, considering that Auro was played by Amitabh Bachchan. After make-up artists gave the finishing touch to Auro, Abhishek was surprised that a personality like Amitabh could be given such a look. He says the look, along with the personality and acting skills of Amitabh, makes Paa a great movie. He says to call Paa a family entertainer would be cliché but assures that everyone would be happy after watching the movie as the sad part of a kid suffering from Progeria is not the main theme of the movie.Abhishek also quashes all speculations that Paa is the comeback film for AB Corp. He says AB Corps is happy making one or two films a year but wants to make sure that every movie is a full-time entertainer.

On a personal front, he says he would like to take over the responsibility of AB Corp from his father. He candidly says he wants his father to slow down and rest. But also adds that he is in absolute awe of him and does not force anything upon him.Abhishek also says that he would definitely look forward to a movie where his entire family would act together. But such a movie would only happen if all members are happy with their roles and if the script demands them.Abhishek wants all people involved with his film Paa – distributors, producers, etc. – to earn from the movie and says that one of the reasons for making this movie in the budget of Rs 15 crore was that everybody should earn.Well, Abhishek may sound optimistic about the upcoming venture, but its success and Auro’s acceptance will be known once the film is released.

Farhan rejects film with Abhishek

Apparently, Abhishek and Farhan Akhtar were the first choices for the two parts and since director Rohan Sippy, Abhishek and Farhan are childhood friends, no one saw any problems in the casting. Rohan’s film is being produced by his father Ramesh Sippy, a close family friend of Farhan’s father Javed Akhtar.Although both Rohan Sippy and Farhan Akhtar remained unavailable for comment, a source close to the project said, “Farhan was indeed the first choice to play Abhishek’s co-star.

The on-screen partnering was patterned on those Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor films that Farhan’s father once wrote. Farhan declined the offer, much to the dismay of Rohan’s team, which hadn’t thought of anyone else.”Since the role is as important as Abhishek’s, Rohan and Abhishek have now zeroed in on John Abraham for the same role.“The problem with Abhishek-John is that audiences will immediately think of Dhoom where again, Abhishek played an undercover cop, as he does in Rohan’s film. Rohan’s film is not a light bantering caper like Dhoom.

It’s dark and does an expose on the drug racket in Goa which ends with one of the principal politician characters being exposed as the kingpin,” said the source.

Aishwarya ditches hubby Abhishek for Akshay

Love and all is fine in its own place, really. When it comes to one’s career, I suppose one needs to be a little ruthless at times, right? At least that’s how Juicy Mausi feels. And so, when I heard that Ash ditched her husband Abhishek for Akshay Kumar, I did not really think it was weird or ‘wrong’. It so happens that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has opted out of her husband Abhishek Bachchan’s film Crooked produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani citing ‘date problems’.

Apparently, the dates clash with her other commitment – Vipul Shah’s Action Replay starring Akshay Kumar.Since Action Replay is neariAsh ditches hubby Abhi for Akking completion and Crooked is going on the floors not before January 2010, Juicy Mausi doesn’t think there should’ve been too many chronological problems. However, one needs to prioritise certain things in life.

Of course, when one wants to get ahead! And it’s not like Ash is leaving her husband Abhishek altogether. They are still very much together darlings.

Abhishek-Aishwarya in State Dinner top 10 wish list

At a time when there is a virtual scramble for first State Dinner of US President Barack Obama on November 24 in honour of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, a US news outlet has come out with its own top 10 wish list of the invitees.Topping the list released by Politico ? known for coverage of the Capitol Hill and the White House ? is top industrialist Mukesh Ambani, who met the President early this year. He is followed by writer-turn activist Arundhati Roy.”As India has assumed a larger role on the global stage, Roy has spoken out against globalisation, Indian poverty and the country’s nuclear weapons programme ? though she has often stirred up controversy,” Politico said and put Thomas Friedman, author of The World is Flat next on the list, followed by Bollywood stars Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.”Rai and Bachchan (or Ash and Abhi, as they are known to their fans) are the biggest stars of Bollywood.

They have billions ? not millions ? of fans; Bachchan has starred in more than 40 movies, and Rai can earn up to USD 15 million per film. If Obama needed to boost his popularity around the world, here is his ticket to the heart of India,” it said.West Bengal Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi too makes it to the wish list on the basis of him being the grandsons of Mahatma Gandhi; given the personal admiration of the Father of the Nation by Obama.”But politics and admiration for Mohandas aren’t the only things that Gopalkrishna and Obama have in common ? both have written books, and both have two daughters,” it said.Bobby Jindal, the first Indian-American to be elected as Governor of a US State, Raj Goyle ? the fast emerging young Democratic leaders are the two Indian American politicians in the wish list; which also includes Raghubir Goyal, White House Correspondent, India Globe.

Politico’s wish list also includes Jeffrey Immelt, General Electric.”As CEO of General Electric, Immelt knows a thing or two about India. His company is one of the biggest US investors in India. And since GE owns NBC Universal, Immelt knows a thing or two about celebrity and the news business. With NBC and GE stock both struggling, an invite for Immelt might be a much-needed vote of confidence,” it said.

Dad is a naughty child: Abhishek

Ask Abhishek Bachchan if he was happy to carry his dad Amitabh Bachchan around on his shoulders while shooting for R. Baalki’s Paa, and the guy gets emotional.”It was really nice carrying him,” says Abhishek, adding that it got him really nostalgic. “As I child, I remember looking down at everyone as I would sit on my father’s shoulder,” he adds.

Abhishek gets emotional talking about his bond with his father and says this was one way he could relive memories. Only this time, he was the father. “And he (Amitabh) is a very naughty child!” he adds.Interestingly, Abhishek adds that he is trying to figure a way to keep the equation between him and his father the same in real life as well!

Sonam Kapoor says no to Abhishek

Oi oi.. what is this I’m hearing now? A trade types khabru buzzed to tell me that Sonam Kapoor was also in the reckoning for the female lead in Ashutosh Gowariker’s next period saga.

Yeah, that Khele Hum Jee Jaan Se, set in pre-independence India, in which Abhishek Bachchan is playing a freedom fighter.

Apparently, Ms Kapoor was approached for the role after Asin opted out. But she didn’t take it up. And there are a couple of reasons for her refusal, says my source.

One of them is the unavailability of the dates required, since she’s committed them to her other films and Gowariker can’t postpone Bachchan’s dates.

Another cause, says my khabru, is that Sonam was skeptical about her pairing with Abhi. Kyun? Kyun ki she wasn’t sure how their reel jodi would be received after Delhi 6 had taken a drubbing at the box-office.

And that’s when Deepika Padukone was approached and finalised for the role. Really now!

When Abhishek plays Paa to Amitabh Bachchan

Abhishek Bachchan has turned a father, that too of a 13-year-old kid! Don’t get surprised. Junior B is playing dad to his actual father – Big B – in their upcoming movie Paa.It takes five hours for the make-up and 68-year-old Amitabh Bachchan is made to look like a 13-year-old kid as he plays a character called Aaro, suffering from progenia in the film. So an older Amitabh is given child-like looks in the movie. Of course, a whole lot of prosthetics and make-up techniques go into getting the right look. All thanks to international make-up artist duo – Christian Kifle and Dominic – as Big B’s make-up was just perfect.

To achieve this kind of looks, the subject is completely stripped off his clothes and is covered in a layer of make-up. Everything from his nose, eyes and mouth are covered leaving just about a sufficient opening for the person to breathe. In fact, it has been so overwhelming for Bachchan that he has often blogged about the experience.”I drove back to the hotel to another trial of make up for Paa. This has just gotten over and even after a hot shower bits and pieces of prosthetics linger irritatingly all over the body. It almost feels to an outsider as though I were losing all my skin,” he wrote recently.

And for every scene Amitabh had to go through the ordeal of a five-hour make-up routine. Interestingly, it did not end just there. Big B had to sit through another hour and a half routine to take the paint off.”The prosthetics and make up timings are improving as is the ability to eat something with it on. My speech suffers whilst I am in the cover of the moulds. But it comes as an added advantage to the play in the character I portray,” Big B adds.

The makers of the film went through a three-month trial with Big B for a look test. Make-up artists tried new looks everyday before finalising one for the character.

Asin walks out on Abhishek

Asin has walked out of Ashutosh Gowarikar’s next anticipated period film Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se starring Abhishek Bachchan. After the failure of What’s your Rashee?, Ashutosh dived headfirst into his next period drama based on the Chittagong Uprising of 1930. Going back to what he does best, Ashu roped in Asin to play the female lead and in an earlier interview had confirmed saying, “Yes, its true that Abhishek is a part of my film Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se and he essays the part of Surjya Sen, as far as Asin goes, I have approached her for the role but its too soon to comment on it.”Currently working on the pre-production matters of the film, Ashu was in for a rude shock when Asin backed off from the film last minute citing date issues.

The director was left surprised and a source close to the actress however revealed, “Its not date issues but Asin doesn’t want to take any more chances with her next. London Dreams while critically appreciated did receive a lukewarm response; Asin was completely sidelined in the film and barely had a role to talk about. She faced the same issue during Ghajini when Aamir hogged all the limelight and couldn’t believe she made the same mistake again.Considering the recent closeness between Ashutosh and the Bachchans, Asin is sure that he wouldn’t pay much attention to her role and would devote his time and energy in promoting Abhishek in the film. Also the failure of What’s Your Rashee? concerned her deeply and now she is being very careful with choosing her next film.

Asin wants a full fledged meaty role in her next to prove her acting prowess.”Now Ashutosh along with pre-production matters of his film will have to start searching for his female lead again and we wonder who would he settle upon considering he’s irked half of the industry’s ladies with his unruly comments on Priyanka. Maybe Ash might come to her hubby’s rescue finally!

Abhishek to romance Kareena in Abbas-Mustan’s next

Abhishek Bachchan is set to romance ex girlfriend Karisma’s baby sis Kareena Kapoor yet again after the debacles of ‘Refugee’ and ‘Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon’.
According to reports, both the stars have broken their so-called vow of not working together for Abbas Mustan’s remake of ‘Italian Job’. The duo had reportedly refused to work together after things didn’t work out between Abhishek and Karisma, who were engaged to be married.

The actors will be starring together after a span of six long years. The film in question will also star Katrina Kaif and Neil Nitin Mukesh in lead roles.

“Initially talks were on with Saif Ali Khan but he did not have dates and Abhishek Bachchan replaced him. Although Saif and Kareena’s chemistry would have sizzled onscreen, it will be nice to watch Abhishek and Kareena after ‘Main Prem Ki Diwani’ Hoon, which was their last film together in 2003. The directors (Abbas-Mustan) always had Kareena in mind and now they have managed to get Katrina on board too. The film will go on floors in April and like every Abbas-Mustan film, this too will also be shot on a lavish budget at international locations. The directors are clear about who they want to cast in the film,” says a source.

A source present on the sets said that the hectic shoot of Raavan had taken a toll on Aishwarya completely draining her out. Vivek gets back on Abhishek

Well looks like Vivek Oberoi finally got back on Abhishek Bachchan for stealing Aishwarya from him by getting him out of Ram Gopal’s next venture. He coaxed Ramu to drop Abhishek & take him for Rakta Chitra. Earlier it was thought that this change had happened due to Vivek’s patch up with Ram Gopal Verma. But the real truth behind the change has been Vivek’s right timing & smartness. Abhi was RGV’s first choice for the role, which later passed onto Vivek. Varma had discussed the storyline with Junior Bachchan.

Even Amitabh Bachchan was very upbeat about the film.Ramu was ready to negotiate the deal with AB baby. However, Abhishek was not keen to be in. Which in present circumstances is quite a wise action seeing the way Ramu’s film bomb at the Box office. He has even crossed the hatrick record of flops. The refusal was partly due to the script which didn’t excite him and partly due to Ramu’s refusal to watch Dostana even when he was personally invited by Abhi.

Meanwhile, Vicky desperately searching for a proper comeback found it a perfect opportunity to bang on the target as Abhi was dilly-dallying the project, Vivek coaxed RGV to cast him as the one. Thus Vivek stole the role from Abhi.

Abhishek And Aishwarya Plan Baby

A lot of people in the industry have been wondering why Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been working so hard lately even as she balances her time
between her two sets of Fact is that Aishwarya is in a hurry to finish up all her pending assignments so that she can keep a part of the year 2010 free for family affairs, and that includes motherhood.
A source close to the couple said, “The two of them are fed up of relatives, strangers and relative strangers asking them when the stork is visiting. Secretly, they feel pressurised. It’s as if their parenthood is a public issue. Even when they are at airports waiting to board flights, over-exuberant ladies rush to them with an inquisitive look on their eager faces. Even before these fans open their mouth, Abhishek knows exactly what the question is, and he gets visibly annoyed. Aishwarya handles such over-inquisitive attention far more graciously.”
Luckily there has been absolutely no peer pressure on Abhishek or Aishwarya about parenthood from either side. Neither the Bachchans nor the Rais are the type who badger their children asking when will they start a family.
But Aishwarya already has a plan, and parenthood probably comes next year when she completes her pending assignments, and that includes a parade of topnotch films including Vipul Shah’s Action Replay, Shankar’s Robot, Mani Ratnam’s Raavana and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish for which Aishwarya starts shooting in Goa in August, followed by Abhinay Deo’s Crooked.
In addition there are filmmakers like Rohan Sippy, Vishal Bharadwaj, Rituparno Ghosh and Ashutosh Gowariker waiting patiently in the queue to sign her.
A source said, “This no doubt is the busiest phase of Aishwarya’s career. Such a flurry of assignments has never been seen before in any married actress’ life and she’d be foolish to let such opportunities slip by. Luckily, Abhishek is thoroughly supportive of her career. She wants to complete as many of these assignments as she can to before she becomes a mother. Because once she gets into that role she wouldn’t want any other distractions. That, Aishwarya is sure of.”parents at Jalsa (the

Ash, Abhi's Ravan in Trouble

Two caravans used in the shooting of Mani Ratnam's multilingual movie Ravan, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, in Ooty have been seized for having forged vehicle documents, police said on Tuesday.

The two caravans had the same registration number. "An investigation led to findings of fraud in the use of forged vehicle IDs and tax evasion, which in turn led to seizure of four vehicles during the last week," said a police official.

According to police, the vehicles seized in Ooty have been valued at Rs 12 million. Both Abhishek and Aishwarya are said to have used the vehicles during the shooting.

The shooting of Ravan has been shifted to another hill station, Hogenekkal (some 300 km southwest from Chennai).
The police official said he feared the "racket may be much bigger since all top stars use high-priced caravans". Police teams have left for Mumbai and elsewhere in Tamil Nadu to look for other similar vehicles.

Sources close to Ratnam said: "To our knowledge only two vehicles that were being operated for us have been seized. The suppliers who lent logistical support to our outdoor units should be blamed. Our shooting is in progress without any glitches."

"Our office has taken up the issue with the suppliers," the source added. Ravan is being made in Hindi and Tamil. It also stars Tamil actors Vikram and Karthik. Since shooting began last year, minor problems have dogged the venture, including Ratnam being laid down with a mild heart problem, and cinematographer Manikandan handing over the work to another celebrated cameraman Santosh Sivan.

The great Bachchan Dilemma

The sudden deterioration in Amar Singh's health has put a cloud over the Bachchans' presence at an upcoming film awards event.

It's an emergency
The ailing politician was flown to Singapore late last night for an emergency operation. What started as an intestinal disorder could now claim his kidneys. It is learnt that the Samajwadi leader will undergo a kidney transplant in Singapore.

He was rushed to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri in a serious condition at around 2 pm yesterday.

The entire Bachchan family Amitabh, Jaya, Abhishek and Aishwarya, accompanied the ailing politician to the hospital.

Health disaster

Amar Singh's condition took a turn for the worse in the last few days. Apparently 70 per cent of his large intenstine has been damaged leading to kidney failure. About 60 per cent of his kidneys have already stopped functioning.

Says a source, "The Ambani hospital was a beehive of activity yesterday. Several Bollywood stars and politicians visited the hospital. Amar Singh's favourite star-campaigner, Sanjay Dutt, flew down last night from Goa, where he was shooting for All The Best."

'Star' attraction
It's common knowledge that every member of the Bachchan parivar dotes on him. And no glamour event in Bollywood is complete without Amar Singh accompany- ing the Bachchans.
