Kambakkht Ishq Breaks Box Office Records in its opening weekend

Well it seems that Bollywood has struck gold again. This is Bollywood’s second smash hit opening weekend in a row. ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ has officially broken opening day records, even beating out that of SRK’s ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.’
Bollywood officials have reported that there was 100 percent occupancy at almost all the multiplexes across the country, making ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ the second highest grossing film for first day collections ever. The film also had a very successful run into the end of the weekend, earning R.S 19 crore worldwide on its opening day only.
Sources from PVR reported, “We are having jammed packed shows for ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ and the weekend was house full.”
We will have to see how the film holds up during the week. If predictions are correct and ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ can hold its staying power at the box office, then we will have the next super hit on our hands.
Jogindar Mahajan told IANS, “Both ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ and ‘New York’ have full chances for business until the next big budget movie releases hit theaters.
It looks like things are looking up for the film industry as they bust out each weekend with hit after hit. Let us know what you guys think. Does ‘Kambakkt Ishq’ have the staying power it needs to be dubbed the next super hit, or will its buzz die down as the week proceeds? As always, drop your comments below.
