Bipasha spills the beans on trickster Ajay

Bipasha Basu says she had loads of fun shooting for All the Best and lets slip that her co- star, Ajay Devgn, is a prankster to the core. Ajay didn’t pull pranks on the actors. Instead, he trained his guns on the poor crew. Becoming a producer surely hasn’t sobered him down one bit, and he kept the practical jokes coming as usual, Bipasha says, cheekily adding that she can speak freely about Ajay now that her cheque has been cleared.

Ajay is a great actor and he keeps it so simple. Also, he is a fantastic producer and has taken care of his actors and unit really well. He ensured everyone was comfortable so that they could work to the best of their abilities, she adds. Ajay, in the meantime, admits that Bipasha is true about the pranks but adds that he has sobered down from his earlier days, when he would come up with crazy stunts.

Ajay Devgan gets bouncers for Bipasha!

After her crowd trauma at a recent festive event, Bips now feels insecure in bheed-bhaad. Sensing her wariness, Ajay Devgan arranged for several bouncers to escort Bipasha Basu from the Delhi airport to the Ferozshah Kotla grounds and back, until they returned to Mumbai. Reveals our source, “Ajay arranged for 20 bouncers from Delhi to escort Bipasha everywhere in the capital. Only at the venue, where the cast of All The Best were to promote their film at the ongoing Champions League T20 match between the Delhi Daredevils and Victorian Bushrangers, were the security guys not allowed to enter. Apparently, a man had come running from the crowds and tried to touch her while she was visiting the Mukerjis’ Durga Puja in Santa Cruz.”Does she get scared while traveling in crowds because she’s known to be a tough lady? “I may be a tough lady but yes I do get scared when I see more than five guys around me. I don’t blame people for their over enthusiasm and excitement but I feel more comfortable when there’s some distance between me and the crowds.”

Few know that Bips loves cricket. “I used to play league cricket in school. In Delhi, I got to watch bits of the match and sat in the VVIP enclosure with IPL commissioner Lalit Modi.” Has she ever thought of buying an IPL team? “I don’t have any finances to do that but if I could associate myself with any group dealing with cricket, I would definitely be interested.”

With IPL turning out to be a major money spinner, Bollywood celebrities are keen to make big bucks by buying cricket teams. According to latest Bollywood news, it is believed that B-town hunk Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgan are eager to buy Ahemdabad IPL cricket team.
Talking to a newspaper, a close source confirmed the news of Sanjay and Ajay planning to buy an IPL team. "They have decided to own a team together as they are ardent cricket fans. They are keen to own the Ahmedabad team. Since Ajay was busy travelling, he informed Sanjay about being unable to meet IPL Commissioner, Lalit Modi. It was Sanjay who met Modi and expressed their interest to own a team. Modi and Sanjay met at a suburban five-star on Wednesday to understand the bidding process. Sanjay made it very clear that whenever the auction begins, they are ready to invest in the Ahmedabad team," the source said.

However, when Dutt met Lalit Modi at a posh Mumbai hotel, the actor was taken by complete surprise as he had no idea that media would be waiting for him at the same venue. It is believed that media is informed every time a Bollywood star wishes to buy an IPL team. The source maintained, “The idea is to let it be known that big stars are getting progressively involved with the IPL. That attracts more money, eyeballs and junta interest. So on Wednesday evening when Dutt reached the Hyatt he was taken aback to see media persons swarming the place. His first impulse was to flee.”

However, it is believed that the meeting between Dutt and Modi was a great success where the former discussed his curiosities about buying an IPL team. The source added, “Sanjay’s main concern was, would he be able to buy the team because of his court cases? There are many things that he can’t do, like endorsements, etc. Sanjay was assured there would be no problem. With the removal of TADA charges Dutt now has rights equal to every other Indian citizen.”

While working in Devgan’s upcoming ‘All the Best’, the lady had expressed the wish of owning a Blackberry and her dream came true in the form of wrap-up gift from him.

The dusky beauty is very excited over her phone. "I love it! I`m going totally crazy with it. Though I`ve no numbers on it and am trying to figure it out, I just can`t get enough of it," says Bips, who recently finished shooting for Ajay Devgan`s comedy ‘All The Best’ in Goa this week.

According to sources, Devgan gifted the phone to Bipasha all of a sudden on the last day of shooting. The actor was impressed by Bips’ dedication and hard work. Bipasha worked round-the-clock and avoided receiving calls even from boyfriend John Abraham. She also agreed to do an additional role in ‘All The Best’ without charging a single penny extra.

Devgan was surprised at the graciousness of Bips. Talking about the gift, Bipasha said, "Yeah, Ajay knew I wanted it. In fact it was he who got me interested in. It is actually a gift in appreciation for working long hours and changing at lightning speed between shots when we had loads of work to finish. Ajay is a fabulous producer and co-star."

The actress is in love with her new phone, "My work has become much easier after getting it. I can check my emails, my photo shoots and endorsements instantly. Everything is so quick and the net is on 24/7 so I don't have to roam around with a laptop constantly. Earlier, I couldn't be on Facebook but now I am a regular over the last few days. It's great to have a producer like Ajay he's entertaining, a very talented actor and great fun to be with, apart from being extremely generous."

On Monday night, Bipasha watched a special trial of New York organised by boyfriend John Abraham. She says, "John made me cry while I was watching the film. Though I have loved his performances from Jism to Taxi No 9211 to Dhoom, this was the film of John that I liked.

I started weeping when I saw his scene at the detention center where he gets tortured. It was so moving... I was choked with emotion. The transition from a happy guy to one who leads another life has been well etched out. It's a hard-hitting film. Even Katrina has done a really good job though I haven't seen all her films."
