Dia Mirza gets marriage proposal from stalker

For years he had stalked actress Dia Mirza but on December 10 he dared to show up at her residence with a bouquet, a ring, and proposed marriage to her.

Pretty lass Dia Mirza isn’t new to adulation from her admirers but this fanatic fan gave her the heebie-jeebies. According to Dia, the stalker has been following her for years but she didn’t bother because he kept his distance.

But on December 10, a day after her birthday, the stalker disguised himself as a florist and managed to get past the security because the actress had received many bouquets on her birthday the day before.

Upon seeing Dia, the man, allegedly in his early 30s, got down on his knees, presented her a card and a ring and proposed marriage. Dia was totally nonplussed for a few moments. Luckily for her, her trusted driver was around and he got hold of the man and sent him scurrying after a stern warning.

Dia says the stalker is apparently an educated man, probably a doctor. But she has filed a police complaint against him. The security guards in her building have also been cautioned to look out for the stalker.

He better stay away.

When Dia Mirza turns Bad

Actress Dia Mirza, who has shed her girl next door image to don a glam diva look in her upcoming film 'Acid Factory' said she trained with action director Tinnu Verma to develop the agility her character required.

"An actor's body needs agility to carry off the action or stunt sequence convincingly. The body needs to be in optimum form. I trained to develop it before the film went on floors," Dia, whose character has shades of grey in the movie, told reporters here, unveiling the film's 'first look.'

"Besides, it's good to be bad," she said adding hers is the only female character in the film which stars Danny, Fardeen Khan, Irrfan Khan, Aftab Shivdasani, Manoj Bajpayee and Dino Morea.

The film directed by Supran Verma and produced by Sanjay Gupta of White Feather Films will release worldwide on September 3.

Fardeen said he earlier worked with Supran in 'Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena' also produced by Sanjay Gupta.

Arshad Warsi and Dia Mirza in The Malyalam Remake of 'Notebook'

Malyalam super hit film,” Notebook”. will be remade in Hindi by Arshad Warsi’s production house, Shooting Star Films. The production house is soon to release its first film Kaun Bola starring Arshad and Dia Mirza. The remake will be directed by Roshan Andrews, who had also made the Malyalam film.

A source confirmed and said, “Arshad always wanted to make Notebook in Hindi but he was busy with his first home production. He and Roshan have had a couple of meetings and are in the process of finalising details for the Hindi remake. Arshad was impressed with the film as it is a youthful subject with a social message. He was also impressed with the manner in which the subject of teenage pregnancy was handled sensitively.”

Arshad too confirmed the news and said, “I love the film. It will be directed by Roshan Andrews and things are currently being finalised.”

Dia Mirza dying to Have kids

Dia Mirza’s career graph may not be as fascinating as many of her contemporaries’, but the actress maintains commercial success is hardly of any consequence. “What is commercial success? I left home at 17 and came to Mumbai. By 21, I bought an apartment of my own and started living independently. My ambition is to excel in what I do and not to compete with others,” she says.

The actress, who was in the Capital to promote her upcoming film Kisaan, says she is “appalled that Indian films are scarcely based on real situations, unlike Iranian or Korean cinema.”
Having earlier worked with Salman in Tumko Naa Bhool Payenge and recently with Arbaaz and Sohail in Fight Club and Kisaan, she reveals the secret behind her thick bond with the Khans. “The first phone call I got from the film industry after I won the Ms India title was from Sohail. He called my mom in Hyderabad, who thought it was a crank call and hung up!” she laughs.
The actress, who is “not seeing anybody since I feel it is important to love yourself before you are ready to share your space with anyone else,” does confess that she’s dying to have kids.
“I am dying to have kids...I really love them.”As for when she is not shooting, the actress occupies herself with “painting, writing, pottery and horse riding.”
