Saif only has only one film on hand!

While Saif Ali Khan has had a recent release with Karan Johar production, Kurbaan he has not signed any film besides his home production Agent Vinod with Kareena Kapoor. So is he out or work after that then? “Yes, I have no work after Agent Vinod. I am currently concentrating only on my home production,” he says. Saif further states that Agent Vinod is an action thriller with “loads of adventure”. “But, it will also be very real. My character is not going to be a wannabe James Bond.

We are still developing the character and right now I am losing some weight for the movie,” he informs.While Saif says that he loves taking on different roles, his experimentation with acting didn’t just happen. “I was never meant to be an actor, but I have grown a lot as one while doing a lot of films. I developed my potential and I do think certain films tapped into my insides. After my role in Dil Chahta Hai, directors started looking at me differently.

There was a time when I thought that I was wasting my time in the industry, but after certain films such as Kachche Dhaage, and Parineeta, my sensibilities towards cinema changed. Omkara was a different story — it changed me completely. I consider myself lucky to have had such roles,” he says

Salman states the record straight about Veer

Salman Khan’s Veer is his most ambitious film till date and the star is leaving no stone unturned to make it a success. Not many are aware that the story of the film is written by Salman himself. After the first look of the film has been out, there have been great positive reactions from all quarters but at the same time there have been some negative comments as well. Few people are commenting that it’s a cliché ridden film. Now coming to his film’s defense, Salman has given an elaborate reply.

“Veer, I think is the largest scale film ever made in the country and to pull it off was no mean feat. . One thing I can say is there is nothing cliché about this film! We began filming in August 2008 but prior to that, to make a film of this scale, a lot of prep and research had to be done. A very detailed research of over 8 months on the period, language, behavior, culture etc has been done by Krishna Raghav to understand the accents, traditions, valor, attitude, history, music, architecture of that era.” Salman writes in his latest blog.

Salman further says, “The film has been extensively shot across Rajasthan (Rajasthan has its own ways of calling me back, it’s a karmic connection!) – Bikaner, Jaipur, Sambhar, Dulla and Jodhpur and all over England. The second schedule lasted 60 days, where the film was shot extensively across Rajasthan at prominent Locations like Mehrangarh fort (Jodhpur) and Ajmer fort (Jaipur). While talking about sets, I have to add the art director Sanjay Dhabade has done an excellent job. Sanjay and his team had a crucial job since the film boasted of extravagant sets covering over 400m at times and approximately 500 members of the art department worked at a time to erect various sets taking from 15–40 days to construct.

The action sequences involve 100s of fighters, 1,000 plus horses, 100s of elephant and camels, including huge sequences such as, a train robbery and a full fledged war on the battlefield with a combat between troops of warriors.”

Sonam Kapoor dating debutant director Punit Malhotra

Sonam Kapoor is in love. Known for being a daddy’s girl, Sonam Kapoor has made a special place for another man in her life. The dainty lass, who owing to her classic doll like frame and perfect mannerism has often steered away from controversies, has stirred quite an hornet’s nest this time round.And it’s all thanks to her up close and cosy relationship with debutant director Punit Malhotra.

Shooting for Karan Johar’s “I Hate Love Stories”, the stunner seems to be quite sweet on the director Punit Malhotra. What’s more is that the two are often seen hanging out, post the shoot of the film.As for Punit, the director is designer Manish Malhotra’s nephew. As per sources, Punit was smitten with Sonam right from the time he met her to narrate the script.

And with Sonam going out of her way to spend time with Punit, the feeling seems to be mutual. Often spotted together at dinners, the two don’t seem averse to going public with their relationship. But with papa Anil watching, only time will tell how this love story fares out.

Shilpa wants to be a mother quickly

After a big fat wedding, Shilpa Shetty expressed her heart felt desire to be a mother soon. When quizzed about the question of motherhood, the newly wedded actress said, “Oh yes! I certainly want to be a mother. I can’t wait to start our family”.Shilpa was very happy the way she was wedded as she has cherished the dream of her wedding for a long time.

She planned to get married once in her lifetime and always wished to be one of its kinds. Last week was the most happiest and tiring period of Shilpa Shetty’s life.When she was asked about relocating to London, Shilpa said that she is not shifting her base to London permanently but will have two homes in two countries. She added that she is yet to know Raj’s relatives and friends circle.

She is planning to start her own production company and so there is no question of shifting her base to London permanently.

Wasim Akram to coach Akshay Kumar?

Former Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram will reportedly make his acting debut in Nikhil Advani’s next film, Patiala House. The film stars Akshay Kumar. Patiala House is apparently based on cricket and Wasim will play coach to Akki’s cricket team.

It will be shot in London and is expected to release next year. The music will be scored by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and lyrics will be penned by Sameer.The film also stars Rishi Kapoor , Dimpla Kapadia and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi heroine Anushka Sharma .

Nikhil Advani and Akshay had last come together in the disastrous Chandni Chowk to China . He had earlier directed the hit Kal Ho Naa Ho and the dud Salaam-E-Ishq .Wasim had had a taste of Bollywood when he judged the dance show Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena with Sushmita Sen.

Kareena fights with Priyanka Chopra

Carrying on the tradition of unfriendly Bollywood actresses, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor are battling it out. First, Priyanka zoomed into Kareena’s territory by befriending Shahid Kapoor just a little while after Kareena broke up with him. And now, they’re fighting over Bollywood’s most sought after make-up artist, Pompy.

Both actresses have worked with Pompy on various commercials and films and want him to be the one styling them. When both of them sign a film, they check if Pompy’s dates match theirs. When Priyanka got ready to shoot for Anjaana Anjaani with Ranbir Kapoor, she checked if Pompy was available. But he was already scheduled to accompany Kareena to Sydney for the shooting of the remake of Stepmom, starring Kajol and Arjun Rampal with Kareena.
Kareena considers Pompy as family, inviting him to her film previews. Those who attended the Kurbaan preview confirmed Pompy’s presence there.Kajol and Rani Mukherjee too had fought over make up artist Mickey Contractor some years ago. Guess Bollywood actresses will remain Bollywood actresses.

Farhan rejects film with Abhishek

Apparently, Abhishek and Farhan Akhtar were the first choices for the two parts and since director Rohan Sippy, Abhishek and Farhan are childhood friends, no one saw any problems in the casting. Rohan’s film is being produced by his father Ramesh Sippy, a close family friend of Farhan’s father Javed Akhtar.Although both Rohan Sippy and Farhan Akhtar remained unavailable for comment, a source close to the project said, “Farhan was indeed the first choice to play Abhishek’s co-star.

The on-screen partnering was patterned on those Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor films that Farhan’s father once wrote. Farhan declined the offer, much to the dismay of Rohan’s team, which hadn’t thought of anyone else.”Since the role is as important as Abhishek’s, Rohan and Abhishek have now zeroed in on John Abraham for the same role.“The problem with Abhishek-John is that audiences will immediately think of Dhoom where again, Abhishek played an undercover cop, as he does in Rohan’s film. Rohan’s film is not a light bantering caper like Dhoom.
